MY SON IS ALMOST 28 MONTHS OLD. HE LOVES TO SIT ON THE POTTY BUT ONLY FOR A FEW MINUTES. HOW DO I GET HIM TO STAY ON THE POTTY AND HOW DO I GET HIM TO USE THE POTTY. SOMETIMES I THINK HES STILL TO YOUNG. WHAT DO YALL THINK?

When he's ready, he'll do it. My son didn't use the potty untill he was 3, its was an over night thing.

I have 3 chikdren, 2 boys (7.5 & 3) and a 15 month old girl. My eldest was almost 4 before he was finally totally trained, my second boy was exactly 3 and now my daughter started training 2 weeks ago and is vigillent about going to the grown up bathroom! With the boys, I found that a piece of cereal (cheerio) thrown in the toilet bowl is a great way to get your little guy to want to go pee! It's a perfect training tool (and fun game for them) to teach them how to aim as well as make them WANT to use the toilet. As for the poos...if you know there schedule, sit them on the toilet and do something with them that they like to dosuch as reading a book or singing songs.
Hope this helps!

I have a 2 and 1/2 year old girl Amelia, i really found it hard with potty training as i work 4 days a week it was harder as well to start. I tried putting her on the toilet and briefly putting undies on her. That didnt really work so i had 6 days of wrok so i thought i will put undies on her and just be persistant and her potty is in the main toilet, she had a few accidnets at first but if your are persistent and just continue it it will work. Good luck it will happen

My daughter is the same way. she'll sit on the potty but still has yet to use it. It's gotten that she is sitting on it less and less amount of time. I say that at least they are sitting on it and eventually they will use it!! best of luck to you!

Right on Evie! He's still little, give him some time, my son was 2 in November, and he too will sit on the potty often but nothing happens. They're too young to get it yet. Girls train faster, my daughter was about 3 and a half and once she was ready, that was it - not one accident or anything! But the key is not to force it, they'll tell you when they're ready :)...literally.

My son is a little over 3 (3yrs + 4months) and he started getting on the potty at about 3 yrs! (4months ago) and he took to it VERY fast! But before then, he wouldnt have it for anything! He is my 4th child & he has started training like my other children, when he was ready! And there was NO accidents at all!! But the training part was WAYYY different from my boys to my girls!! (2 of each) Then when the poo thing came with my 3 yr old and of course he would only go in his pull-up/underwear! But then I got him to get on the potty & try it AFTER a long time of staying with him consistantly, and he was doing it for a couple days! NOW...all the potty training has STOPPED!! He wont go on the potty chair for ANYTHING! This is what my oldest did which is my other boy! But I have just reminded him every day & wait til he gets that lil bird in his ear to tell him to go ahead! I have seen friends of mine force the training and they are still putting pull-ups on their child as the age of 5 & 6! And i refuse!! So Maybe this will help you, I am not sure! But we all are different, so I just like to take my time!
