I am in the same boat!  My twin girls go to a 4 year old program that lasts the same length at a regular school day.  They have done a great job with not having accidents at school, but still have to have a pull-up at night.  Some mornings they wake up dry, but most mornings it is wet.  I think they rely on the pull-up and get lazy at night.  It takes them a while to go to sleep at night and they do not get up to go potty when they are still awake.  I have talked to them about getting rid of the pull-ups, and one of my twins is ok with it, but the other is not.  I am stuck with deciding what to do.  Keep at it, if your girls are like mine, they will just get to the point where they stop having daily accidents.  It just happened on its own; I guess when they got tired of feeling wet.  Neat to meet another mother of twin girls! :-)

Hi Jennifer,

Your girls are certainly old enough and it sounds as if they are showing the signs of readiness.  SO if it is just a matter of resistance, then you need to try and make the process fun.

I created a potty training program called Potty Tots when my own daughter was so resistant to potty training.  It is interactive and fun and builds on a child's need for independence by teaching them the steps to potty training with a storybook, animated DVD and a step by step illustrated potty chart.  My daughter always resisted my help or my direction.  It was so frustrating!  So by creating these littel "friends" the Potty Tots who show kids h ow to go potty and address their fears and celebrate in their accomplishments, kids feel independent and confident and good about themselves.  Takes the "power struggle" out of potty training.  You can go to the website www.pottytots.com or clisk on the video link I posted at the bottom of the post page to see the 2 minute overview of the program.

It is always a good idea to talk to a professional like a pediatrician or even a behavior specialist if the problem continues.

I hope this helps!

Jill
