Experienced Mothers I need help! My 11 month old daughter Akira keeps taking off her diaper and using the restroom. Does this mean that she is ready to potty train? I have been trying to get her to sit on her potty but she just wants to play with it and not sit on it lol.

Yes I am a mother of 3 I am currently successfully training my almost 11 month old. The key is to take her when she first wakes up, after every meal, and before nap and bedtime if possible. If you see her taking it off then run her to the potty and when she does do something make a huge deal about it like clapping and telling her good girl!!! If the baby potty distracts her to much then put her on the regular potty with a seat adjuster and just sit right beside her so she doesn't fall. I don't use the baby potty for that reason LOL! Once she masters walking and climbing she can use a sturdy child step and get on herself. I give my daughter a small toy to hold onto or I sing to her to relax her and she does fine, every child is different though, you will have to figure out what works for yours :)

My daughter is 1 6 months old, and we just started potty training. She is a copy cat,(my husband affectionately calls her mockingbird), so when its scheduled potty time, i put her on her potty, and i sit on my potty! We sing songs or read a book... Try entertaining her, or getting a potty for her so you can use the big potty... L o l! And always, always cheer when she sits, and never force them to go...!

I would start potty training. I have identical twin girls & they have been taking their diaper off all the time for the past two months, because they don't like to feel having a wet butt. I bought a big girl potty for them and my youngest used it for the first time this morning. You just had to make a schedule and stick with it. Good Luck!!

My daughter much prefers to use the big toilet without an insert. She wants to be just like Momma. I would start the potty training process, but after 2 or 3 months of no improvement or change, maybe she just hates diapers. I had to duct tape my daughters diapers for awhile for her to understand not to take them off. So did my sister-in-law for her 2 kids.

I think that 11 months is young to be potty trained! If I were you I wouldn' t jump in to that just yet because she is so young and probably doesn't understand what you would be asking of her!! When I potty trained mt son he was just under 2 and my at the time 8 month old did the same thing your daughter is doing but it passed after a few days. Good luck :)

she is either ready or just irrated with wearing a diaper. did you try the potty seat that sits on the toilet? maybe she would be more comfortable being like the grownups. my 3yo was that way :P hope this helps
