Signs that your child is ready to be potty trained.

My 20 months old daughter started on pull ups a week ago. I was waiting on sign to show that she is ready to be potty trained. Just yesterday she was pulling her pants down and running around the house naked. Is that a sign for potty training now that she knows how to pull her pants and pull ups down? If so, HOW can I start the process of potty training? I'm afraid she wont cooperate or be interested, let alone sit on the potty toilet.

I was very lucky and my daughter was potty trained without me even knowing it by the age of 11 months. I was a single parent living and working in South Africa (where my daughter was born) and the childminding nursery she attened always sent her home in training pants. I would religiously put a towling nappy on her (she is now aged 26 years!) and take her to the nursery each day. Until one day, the childminder asked me why I was putting her in nappies and whether I noticed she was in training pants. From that day on - I used training pants and she was clean and dry by 12 months. She started walking at 11 months, so I guess that must help with potty training. It may be worth looking up the methods African countries to potty train their kids - it was completely stressless for me and her. Hope this can give some encouragement to you all.

you should buy a potty and just leave it around the area where she is if she is ready she will show interest in the potty keep reminding her that the potty is there and praise her if she shows any interest in the potty she'll soon want to investigate it .....worked for me on my 2 yr old........good luck !
