I'm not sure weather or not to start potty training my 2 year old son. Any advice on when and how to start potty trainning will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for the advice :)  He seems to be going back and forth on being interested, after his bath at night he will sit on his toilet while we brush his teeth, and he has peed and gotten quiet excited about it and then other times he wont want to sit on the toilet or he will get up and start peeing on the floor. Sometimes if he has even just a slightly damp diaper he will pull it off and give it to me and then other times he just doesn't care and doesn't want to be changed. But I think waiting until the summer might bring some new developments and I will let him go at his own pace.

I think that the decision of when you should start potty training should be your son's. Is he showing signs of being interested in going on the potty (ie. interested in you and your husband going on the toilet, being uncomfortable in a dirty diaper etc)? My son is almost 3 and has absolutely no interest in potty training.  I'm not going to force him because that will just make potty training a hellish experience for him and me. I am waiting until the summer months when he will be wearing less clothing, and he can run outside in the backyard in his underwear.

I've never yet heard of a child going  to school wearing diapers so I'm assuming (and hoping) that he will start showing interest by then. Good luck. :)
