He went thru a stage when he was 1 and a half and wanted to use the potty and now he doen't want to i need some suggestions. I've tried letting him sit on the potty backward, a stool where he can stand up, a baby toilet top, outside, and even prizes. Does any one have any ways that worked for them? Is he behind?

I want to try letting him be naked around the house with his potty in front of the tv but his father won't allow it thinking our son will pee all over the carpet and elsewhere.

My son is 28 mo and we have been potty training for going on 3 weeks now and in the last 3 days it has finally clicked and we have not had any accidents.

Basically we stayed home and let him be naked and sit in his potty chair in front of the TV while he watched Mickey or Handy Manny (on a blanket to prevent spray!) Be prepared for a lot of accidents!

After about 4 days we started with Undies and he had a lot of accidents but we stuck with it. If he has an accident we say "Pee goes in the potty" and he helps clean up the mess. For us Candy is the best reward, but you can try stickers or other stuff too. If he has no accidents all day he gets a present (like a hot wheels car, nothing expensive) and he gets to call Grandma and Grandpa and tell them he is a big boy.

If he is refusing the seat maybe give 1 treat for just sitting on it, 2 for pee and 3 for poop. I recently started cutting M&M's in half with a pill cutter just to reduce the amount of candy I am doling out!

You are in no way behind. Most boys seem to be closer to or over 3 when they potty train. My son only wanted to start because his little girl friend was potty trained.
