They will let you know when they are ready to potty but if you want to start encouraging them to go potty you could go ahead and get a potty chair and sitting them on there getting them used to the idea. Don't rush it every child is different. I have twins I had my daughter Kailey potty trained before she was two in June and her twin sister Hailey I just got potty trained a couple of months ago.

Your child will let you know when he or she is ready. My first child was fully trained by 18months but my second child is two has just started training since Christmas. Each child is different and they'll work out their own schedule.
