WHY IS IT SO HARD TO POTTY TRAIN BOYS

i have 3 boys the first 2 were both trained by their 2 birthday the 3rd one is going to be 4 in august and will not pee in the potty he will poo but he always pees his pants he won;t wear under wear only wants his pull ups and when i make him he pees them as soon as i put them on i've tryed now to cancel all cartoons and he only gets a show if he pees in the potty

I feel your pain ladies! We have been trying to get our 3 year old to potty train, but he just has no interest. He knows what to do he just won't. I've tried putting him in underwear a few times and sometimes he does good and other times NOT. How long is this going to take? We are so tired of buying pull-ups! My oldest son is 11 and I didn't have any trouble getting him to potty train. I sure hope it happens before kindergarten! I'm open to any tips!!

is he showing signs of readiness at that age? Training them before they're ready is just stressful on everyone especially the child. My son turned 2 in February and we're still working with him on communication and getting his speech up to speed, I don't expect to fully get him trained till age 3. He doesn't show alot of readiness even now though, but he will pee on the potty if I put him on it. I don't expect any child to be completely trained till 3 or 4. We buy the Parents Choice diapers at Walmart $13 for like 92 or something, you can't beat that...

I thought I was the only one who had a 2 year old who is lazy. He doesnt like sitting long on his potty. He lets me know he poops after the fact, then wants to go to the bathroom. I have tried the cheerios, letting the water run while he's on it, letting him see his favorite Elmo potty, etc etc but he still refuses to do so. Now he will pee in the potty but refuses to have a bm. I tried putting regular underwears so he can be broken from the Pull-ups too.

lol, my son is the same.. he is 2 and i tell him if he potty's ill give him a piece of candy! he doesn't pee on him self at all but wont pee in the potty! sometimes i wonder if he peed while my back was turned but i doubt it.. i put him in underwear and he doesn't like the feel of wetness in his undies. he notices that its nasty to pee on the floor! on the carpet, he doesn't care lol... its hard, ive been looking threw a lot of potty training websites and asked friends, all the tell me is to reward him, for what, sitting there?! lol

I've been potty training my son since he was 18 months old and he is now 3 years old. He ain't potty trained. We took him off the pull ups a few days ago and put him in real underwear and only have had a one accident per day so far. My middle son is 2 years old and we tried doing the same thing but he isn't ready yet but once in a while he tells me he has to pee. Good luck!

I had better luck potty training at the age of 2. We tried at 18 months and it just didn't work with my son.

Oh girl I have a 2 year old son and trust me boys are a pain. My 5 year old gave me the hardest time. Took him almost 6 months after hitting 3 years old to get him potty trained.
My 2 year old is learning faster cause he see's his big brother using the huge potty. But he has his days when he wants to be lazy and just poop and pee in his pull-up. I have been taking parenting classes as soon as I get too the potty training I will for sure email you with some good ideas on how we can get this potty thing going for us :) good luck
