my son is 2 and potty trained only during the day but i can't get him to go to the potty by his self he always makes me go with him and i just stand and wait until he is done i don't help he can do everything by his self.. i even leave the bathrom light on and books for him to reach ... what can i do to help him get go by his self?

thank you ill try what you suggested If i don't go with him he wont go to the potty its just hard sometimes because i also have a 9 month old and i don't want him to be 4 and still wanting me to go with him

My daughter doesn't make me follow her anymore, but she does make me go see the pee in the potty. Sometimes I would just say good job or 'in a minute' if I'm busy. She doesn't tell me much anymore. What does he do if you don't come with him? can you take him to the bathroom and then close the door behind you to show he should have privacy? My daughter isn't 2 yet, but she likes some privacy (just doesn't like giving us any). If nothing works, it doesn't hurt anything to have to follow (just gets annoying). Hang in there! I'm sure he will start going on his own at some point.
