I have always been so moved by music. I have found that no matter what life throws at me, there is a song to help me through.

We are here for one reason, and that is to praise God. There are many ways to praise Him, however I praise Him deepest through song. Right now, I am loving Chris Tomlin's newest album: "Hello Love."

I encourage you to share songs that have touched you and helped grow your relationship with Christ.

I will end this post with the words to the song "I Will Rise":

There's a peace I've come to know
Though my heart and flesh may fail
There's an anchor for my soul
I can say "It is well"

Jesus has overcome
And the grave is overwhelmed
The victory is won
He is risen from the dead

And I will rise when He calls my name
No more sorrow, no more pain
I will rise on eagles' wings
Before my God fall on my knees
And rise
I will rise

There's a day that's drawing near
When this darkness breaks to light
And the shadows disappear
And my faith shall be my eyes

Jesus has overcome
And the grave is overwhelmed
The victory is won
He is risen from the dead

And I will rise when He calls my name
No more sorrow, no more pain
I will rise on eagles' wings
Before my God fall on my knees
And rise
I will rise

And I hear the voice of many angels sing,
"Worthy is the Lamb"
And I hear the cry of every longing heart,
"Worthy is the Lamb"
And I hear the voice of many angels sing,
"Worthy is the Lamb"
And I hear the cry of every longing heart,
"Worthy is the Lamb"

La - You're right! I take complete comfort in the fact that Jesus knows all about our struggles. He not only leads us, but carries us when needed.

Diane - The song that you quote is a complete pouring out of oneself to God...which is an absolutely awesome place to be.

Thank you both for sharing!

Heather! What a wonderful idea for a group! I share your passion for music and am truly touched by music in many ways! I love to sing as well as just listen to good music. A song I have come across just recently is "I Will Lean Into the Potter's Hand"

Lord of my heart, I am Your new creation,

Common clay transformed by grace.

I'm a vessel of hope and filled with jubilation,

A cup that overflows with praise!

Take and shape me, Lord, I pray.

Break me, make me, Lord, today.

Teach me, Lord, Your perfect plan.

I will lean into the Potter's hand.

I will lean into the Potter's hand.

Lord of my heart, I give to You my worship,

Every gift, my life, my all.

O Lord of my heart, I long to be Your servant,

I long to hear Your loving call.

Have Thine own way, Lord, have Thine own way.

You are the Potter, I am the clay.

Mold me and make me after Thy will,

While I am waiting, yielded and still.

Take and shape me, Lord, I pray.

Break me, make me, Lord, today.

Teach me, Lord, Your perfect plan.

I will lean into the Potter's hand.

I will lean into the Potter's hand.

I'm looking forward to sharing with everyone in this group! BTW, I found this group on the Promote Your Group thread in the Leaders' Group!

So true, music is a powerful way to set the atmosphere for alone time with God. I love the old HYMN "Theres Not a Friend" My favorite line that always hits home is , "Jesus knows all about our struggles He will lead till the day is through." Whenever I have something that is troubling me I can focus on these words to help me get through what ever.
