You are exactly right! I was so obsessed with PE, that GD didn't even cross my mind. My doctor pretty much said the same thing about a matter of when with BP medicine or bedrest. I'm just happy to have gotten this far and things are looking up. My daughter is 17 months old and I can't imagine being on bedrest.

I am dealing with gestational diabetes and preterm labor currently. We were so concerned and focused on PE and HELLP symptoms that you do not think of other things going wrong. Pregnancy is a tricky time. You just never know. I am glad I see my doctors twice a week. I never know what my body is going to do. The doctors said that I got PE so early last time that I may get it this time it is just a matter of when. Maybe I will not get it who knows. What tricky, tricky time.

Thanks so much! They were thinking of putting me on BP medicine, because that was really the only symptoms. At my last appointment, I didn't have any protein in my urine and my BP's are actually getting better at home!! I'm back to every 4 week appointments as long as there is not any spiking in my BP at home. So for now, I'm out of the woods in that sense, at least for a couple weeks :) Unfortunately, I'm now dealing with possibly getting gestational diabetes... if it's not one thing it's another!!

I had PE and HELLP during my first pregnancy at 24 weeks. Now I am currently 33 weeks in my 3rd pregnancy. I had a bp spike at 28 weeks and my 24 hr urine was a little over 300. I am now on bedrest bps are normal and 24 hr urine was 275. Bedrest is helping. What does you doctor mean by will be on medicine? Have you been tested for underlying disorders. I have APA and MTHFR. The APA antibodies caused a clot to me placenta resulting in the babies stunted growth and possibly resulting in PE, and HELLP. I am on Lovenox to help prevent blood clots, baby aspirin, lovenox, prenatal, over the counter folic acid and b12, and folgard. I joined the preeclampsia.org forums and they encouraged me to get tested for underlying disorders. If your issues do not resolve maybe your doctors can put you on bedrest to help with the symptoms. I am keeping you in my thoughts in hopes that your symptoms will get better.

My doctor's appointment on Thursday went pretty well. I took in all my BP readings that I had been taking at home and they said they were ok. There is some protein and sugar in my urine, but that is really normal for me. My doctor is having me come in every 2 weeks and continuing to take my BP at home. She said that more than likely by about 27 weeks, I would probably be on medicine. But she doesn't seem to worried about things. That was good. Thanks for asking :)

Exactly, Kim! I have a doctors appointment on Thursday. I have been checking it at home daily and it's always been in the "acceptable" range (although sometimes it hits the 140's), those fears are just here! I think the fears and stress make it worse!

yikes, thats kinda scary! i feel you though...i had the "picture perfect" pregnancy until about 32 weeks. i had a kidney stone then, and then at 33 weeks, my BP jumped and i was put on bed rest. i was put in the hospital at 36wks 3 days and had to deliver at 37 weeks because nothing they did could control my BP. today i went to see my general practitioner and my bp was back up.



i'm kinda worried about next time and fear that the same thing will happen, but will start earlier
