Placental Infarction anyone?

I was diagnosed with severe preeclampsia and I like many of you all also had complications, such as placental infarction. I've never heard of infarction until the pathology report then I did some web-searching on infarction. The nicu dated my son's age/development at 34wks instead of his gestational age of 37wks due to the infarction blocking oxygen and nutrients from 34wks on. I want to know if the infarction is a complication due to preeclampsia. Has anyone else had this complication and preeclampsia before? Any info is appreciated. ty.

I am 14 weeks pregnant with my second baby and only found out today that i had placenta infarction on my last baby.I had severe preeclampsia and my baby was born at 33 weeks she was small for her weeks her weeks were dated as 31 weeks never knew why she was small for gestational age and never knew about PI until today hope this helps my little girl is fine now she is nearly 2 .I hope this helps you Anne
