I am looking for ways to remove mildew without using bleach. My pram is made from bright red fabric, but it looks awful due to mildew. My car is a Nissan Navara with a hard cover over the tray, and this is where the pram 'lives' when not in use. Taking it inside at the end of each trip out is just not realistic as it would mean dragging it upstairs and back down every day because it gets used all the time. Also, we have nowhere to keep it upstairs at the house is not all that big. So it stays in the car, but due to the hard cover not sealing up to be water/air tight like a regular boot (trunk, depending on where you're from) during wet weather there it is very damp in there and the mould starts to grow on the pram. Not only does it look awful against the bright red, but it is a bit of a health issue too. Obviously I can't use anything containing bleach, as this would fade the fabric. The only thing I've found to remove most of it is hosing it with the pressure cleaner, but that uses so much pressure that only a couple of washes with this have started to stress the fabric and I don't think it could take another dose of this. If anyone knows anything that would help to get rid of it, I'd appreciate it. The other thing I thought was having it dry cleaned. Has anyone tried this with a pram, and did it work?
