Katarina.. You just HAD to get me started on makeup lol.

Alright.. I have a few that I LOVE and a few that I tried that are Ok.

Ok:
Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse
Covergirl TruBlend liquid

Love:
Maybelline Pure.Makeup
Avon's Magix Cashmere mousse, Perfect Wear and the Ideal Shade tinted moisturizer.

For powder, I LOVE Covergirl Professional Loose powder, Rimmel Stay Matte and there was one Rimmel powder that was really fine and silky, but I can't remember what it's called and I know they discontinued it (very sad). But I can only use Almay ever since I had my son, other powders make me break out.

Im pretty sure that they will give you a free facial and make-up application when you go in...that's what there do here in Wichita.

idk where you live but here is the link to the store locator...my sister used to sell this when she worked at Von Maur thats how I got hooked lol...one you go to a store and find out what shades you like you can order it online with free shipping...thats what I do now that my sister no longer works there...you also have to try the purifying oil...the first time I went into the store my sister gave me a mini facial and she put this oil on my face to take off all my old makeup and impuritites on my face and I literally hadnt worn any make up in 3 days and showered everyday to where I thought my face was super clean and this oil took out so much more makeup that I till had left on my face from 3 days before...Thats what sold me on LM...I recommended it to everyone!

Awesome. Thanks! They carry it at Saks in Downtown Charleston, SC and they even have 3 different stores carrying it in the Ala Moana Mall in HI.. So if I can't get it before I leave, I can always get it after. Can't wait to try it!

I had gotten a shimmer palette (it's in block form just like LM) from Avon and that does a good job.. But they don't have it anymore. I got it years ago and still have some left.

I see. Oh gosh, I know.. I had quit wearing foundation for a while and just used powder b/c I felt like I was sweating underneath the foundation it was so heavy. If I can ever find it in a department store, I just may have to splurge just to see if I like it.. My husband will probably pass out though :)

Well its not something that you sell at home like Avon...its only at Department stores...I live in KS and they have it only at Von Maur...which is like a Macy's...Yeah they are much more expensive but they last me so much longer than say Maybelene or cover girl does, and I like that it is much lighter than the others too...I don't feel like my face is being suffocated...make-up is like my one big splurge for myself...I don't mind buying second hand jeans from Platoe's closet but I like to have nice make-up...my face powder has 24 carat gold in it for peats sake lol...I hate to spend money but to me it is well worth the investment!

Laura Mercier looks something similar to Avon or Mary Kay?

My Avon foundations and tinted moisturizer is the same size as LM and a lot cheaper.. I just don't have that kind of money. But the products look great!

[deleted account]

I only buy Laura Mercier...its much more expensive to purchase the first time but it lasts so much longer than drug store make-up...I had the same tube of foundation for over a year and the blush for almost 2...and i wear makeup probably 5 times a week with touch-ups...its really worth the investment in my opinion...here is the link if you want to check it out...

I use a Rimmel Recover, for my dark under eyes and it works quite well. It's the only one I've found that actually makes a difference. I still haven't found a shadow shade that I'm in love with.

I didn't realize I was so loyal to Maybelline until I started listing all the stuff I've tried. I think it's about time for me to branch out a little more..

I dont usually wear powder, not because I dont like it, but I have a short neck and when I wear any shirt with a collar it rubs off on my shirts...so I stick with just foundation and I love cover girl clean # 120...and its cheap :) I like to try new mascaras and shadows and I'm not brand loyal to anything other than my foundation...I did just get the stiletto mascara, and I love it...but it is a bit on the pricier side.

I like Mary Kay when I can afford it. I have a friend in the neighborhood that will sell it to me at her cost, but I don't like to take advantage of her too often. So I buy cheaper makeup for day to day use and wear Mary Kay when I dress up. Right now I have Covergirl and I'm not too happy with it.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Sheer cover! It is the best foundation I have ever used, works out quite cheap as well because it lasts for so long, I always have people comment and ask what make up I wear. For my wedding I had my make up done professionally, I wiped it all of and did my own with sheer cover!

Haha! Me, too! Partly why I started this group, but also b/c I love to give/hear reviews for just about anything.

I've used a couple pressed powders, one was that Rimmel Stay Matte and the discontinued one (OMG, I LOVED that one.. Still sad about it an it's been a couple years :( ) and I think I had tried a CG one, but it was when I first started wearing makeup.

OH!!! I forgot to add, I really like the Physician's Formula Mineral Wear powder and the Talc-free Mineral Wear Mineral Concealer stick.. But I am using an Avon concealer now, which is a better match for my skin tone and it's cheaper. And I've used several other mineral makeups, but they aren't quite as good as PF, IMO.

LOL Christina, I find myself always looking for make up reviews!

I LOVE covergirl Pressed powder(the one in the greenish compact). I've used Almay products and love their liquid concealers.

But I'm a Covergirl!

I always use a lush brush to apply my powder, and luckily haven't had to use a foundation since having my son, so any powder is okay since I don't put much on anyways. I find CG very light and doesn't even feel like I have anything on.

Of course I prefer the natural glow of the summer months.
