One of my favorite things to do with young children is fingerprint crafts. We did a fun Valentine's Day craft using fingerprints last year. It is the perfect gift for short attention spans and lots of people to make cards for! http://www.almostallthetruth.com/parenting/make-things-monday-eco-valentines/
Last Year Helen Bird from Curly Birds created this DIY craft tutorial for BloesemKids and I believe it is still one of the cutest Valentine projects you can do together with even very young kids. 'I'm Your Love Bug!"

We made "love bowls" this year. My kids are 3 and 1 and loved it. We make salt dough hearts, paint them, and write our family members names on them. I put them in a small bowl on the table. The kids are so proud of their creation.
I just wrote a whole blog post about

We make Valentine's Day special for the whole family by having a candlelit dinner and dressing up in fancy clothes.
Generally, though, it's the middle of the week and often falls on the same night as basketball practice, so we have French Dip Sandwiches which are sooo yummy and special, but are as easy as you can get!
So it's fancy . . . but simple and easy!
These gingerbread hearts are very easy to make and look so beautiful.
Whenever there's a holiday like Valentines or St.Patricks day where there is an overall color theme, we make pancakes the color of the day!
So for Valentines, put some red food coloring in the pancake batter, and bake. You can even get a heart shaped cookie cutter or pancake mold to form the pancakes into a heart.
A set of heart shaped cookie cutters in a range of sizes will save the day - used them for sandwiches, rice krispie treats, brownies, cheese and crackers, tracing hearts to color...the possibility are endless. This s a video I made before my site sold to Disney, but you see how to make super cool inside out heart sandwiches and more! http://youtu.be/V97voR4aiCQ
Create beautifully colored, layered salt, containers with a secret inside. Look at below link for how-to tutorial to color salt with chalk - color it blush, pink, red and purple. Pour in layers into a jar with a hidden love note or well wrapped sweet inside for a beautiful valentines craft and gift.
