How do i get my almost 9 month old baby girl to find her own dummy at night while sleeping?

I am assuming that a "dummy" is the same thing as a pacifier or "nuk" as my daughter and I call it. Whenever I put my 10 mo. old down I lay her in her crib with her blankie, a bottle, and just put her nuk by her head. She knows how to feel around for it and recognizes it. I can sometimes her her stirring in the night, and as soon as she finds her nuk she goes right back to sleep.
