I love the climate obviously, but being able to take my girl and our dog to the beach for an hour between school pick up and dinner, totally rocks. We are lucky to live under 5kms from The Sydney Opera House, we're so central and we love traveling the harbor on our local Ferry Service. It's also very safe here; my front door is open right now (just put a coat of paint on it) actually.

The wide open spaces, the laid back lifestyle, the fact that our children can choose to pursue any dream they have. We have the most beautiful country on earth and I love to discover it all with my children.

My children will always have opportunities to be able to better themselves. They will be able to be educated, well travelled and have freedom to think and do as they please without repurcussion. This already makes them better off that about 90% of children around the world. What's not to like about that? :)

Climate, safety and friendliness of people. Being able to give our kids the space and freedom to learn and explore...

the freedom to choose, whether that be to have your baby at home or hospital,bf or bottle, cloth or disposable, the type of clothing, you can theme your kid starwars ,if you wanted to ,choice of religion...if any, the school you send them too, where to live. Yep. CHOICE I would have to say.

We live on the beautiful Sunshine Coast, in the countryside though, so our children are in a area where their friends are close by, their school is a nice quite Christian school and we are only a car trip drive away from the beach!

I have four children, six and under, including a set of boy/girl twins. More kids than I ever could have hoped for (and sometimes more than I can cope with!) Raising children, in Australia, or anywhere, is an absolute privilege, don't you think? Growing these kids is the best job in the world. I try to remain focused on the important stuff and keep things as simple as I can. Good old fashioned fun and family, just like my childhood but with a dose of technology thrown in.

What's not to love? We are an incredibly lucky country in that we have freedom, great healthcare and schooling and a gorgeous sunblessed casual lifestyle.

Raising a child in Australia is to me the greatest privilage. We have space and land, with mountains, deserts, forests, and oceans. My children grow up spending large amounts of time at the beach. They have a healthy lifestyle of swimming and surf lifesaving and play sports such as football and cricket. We have long hot summers and cool winters. We have education that is of a high standard and employment prospects that are relatively good. There is opportunity for a great standard of living in a peaceful and stable environment. I have never raised a child anywhere else but am perfectly happy doing so in this great country.

I love the Aussie spirit. I love how we cheer for the underdog, and are laid back and relaxed.

Also or health care system is pretty good. :)

CrashGirl was actually born in Scotland and it was cold - really cold! So firstly I like the weather here. Even though Melbourne is notorious for having 'four seasons in one day', it is still warmer than Scotland most of the time!

I also like being close to my family. I'm from New Zealand, but most of my immediate family are here. I've travelled the world and have loved living in places like Los Angeles, Toronto, and Edinburgh, but it is nice to be somewhere I can call home and share it with my own little family.

My husband and I have CrashGirl who is 4 in early 2012 and CrashBoy who turned 2 in 2011. They are energetic, exuberant kids who love open spaces and adventure. Australia has that in abundance and I'm looking forward to showing them my favourite parts of the country and exploring new ones together as a family as they grow up.

This is a hard one as I have never experienced any other country, but living in country Victoria, I love the freedom my children have to explore and to be a valued member of a community.
I also like the opportunities that my children are given everyday within their education and their out of school activities.

I love raising my children in Australia, where we have the freedom and opportunity to learn, grow and thrive in a prosperous nation.

Our democratic and inclusive approach to education means that as parents we can encourage our children to achieve great things, regardless of their gender, socio-economic background or religion. The sky's the limit!

Australia is an expansive, safe and beautiful country with many great places to explore and experience, all filled with friendly, laid-back people. This is the perfect setting for raising a modern family and living life to the fullest.

Raising children in Australia has to be the best place in the world. We have everything we need, gorgeous weather, beautiful surroundings, and an easy and relaxed way of life. We live on the Gold Coast, which is 1 hour south of Brisbane in QLD. We are away from the bustling city, but not so far away that we miss out on what a big city can offer - museums, state libraries, popular theatres and major shopping centres. I wouldn't live anywhere else in the world!

Whilst the political landscape is changing and life seems to be becoming more unaffordable for many here in Sydney, I wouldn't raise my children anywhere else in the world. Besides the fact that they are surrounded by irreplacable family and friends here, Australia still is in many ways the "lucky country".

It is a unique place to live - made up of many nationalities and cultures, where our freedom of speech allows us to speak our mind. Political correctness might be stunting this a bit, but still - we are not stoned for disagreeing with someone, we are not executed for daring to question the government and we are still free to vote for whomever we choose.

This question could probably be answered in a very long essay. There would be lots to write about! But for me personally, I love this country for the opportunities it provides for my children. I still believe that it is a country where anyone can be successful.

My ancestors came out here many, many years ago. They worked the land to provide for their families. Many of their children and grandchildren are still farmers, providing valuable resources for this country and the world. Others educated themselves and started their own businesses, building legacies for their children and grandchildren as well.

From the serene landscape of the mountains to the gorgeous beaches, from the bustling harbour cities to the family-oriented suburbs, there are plenty of lifestyle choices for everyone in Australia.

I'm originally from Spain but grew up in the UK. Raising children in Australia, I love the choice and the abundance of sports there are for them to choose from. I like how in a short drive you can be at the beach or surrounded by bush. In the UK it's expensive to have a house with a garden, here its more affordable and my children love playing in our garden.

The opportunities. I don't think many people realise how lucky we are in Australia. Free education, free healthcare, clean drinking water and employment opportunities.

Our climate is also very family friendly. We can be outside most of the year, we have fabulous parks, beaches, lakes etc. There is endless ways to spend time with the family.

I love the freedom. I live in rural Australia, and I'm a big fan of the space. This is a beautiful country. But I also love the fact that I live in a nation where I am entitled to my opinion. I love the fact that I can raise my child as I see fit, and that I am free to worship the God that I love.

The thing I like most about raising a child in Australia is the opportunity to learn about different cultures in our communities. There are so many different cultures just in our local area and being able to experience their cuisine and festivities is a great learning experience for everyone.

I love the safety, the freedom and the opportunities that Australia offers. Children growing up here can literally do ANYTHING. We live in a rural community more than two hours from the nearest capital city - and the opportunities here in this small and beautiful place are just astonishing. Kids really can have it all!
