Confidence. It sounds corny, but whatever you wear will look better if you're not worrying too much about it. After that, I would say color. Whether it's a bright purse, a great necklace, colorful ring, punchy shirt or skirt, it will keep you from getting lost in a sea of black, beige and grey.

My feet grew during pregnancy--from a size 6.5 to an 8! Yikes! Between fallen arches and a new crazy supermom schedule, I've found my sky-high heels not the most practical of fashion accessories. I've been stocking up on a fabulous collection of ballet flats, kitten heels, and flat boots for the fall. And you know what? I'm loving it (and I think my little toesies are too)!

Red High Heels. They can bring a touch of adventure, a punch of pizazz or a hint of romance to our style AND they won't let us forget that we are women!

A wrap dress! I'm all about investing in timeless pieces. Why? To save money! I do like trends and trends are fun, but I don't invest too much money into them because a year or two later it won't see the light of day. My favorite wrap dress brands are Diane von Furstenberg and Banana Republic. DVF for fun prints and BR for solids. Click the link to see my BR dress. Perfect for work or on girls night out. Just change your shoes and toss on a bold necklace. And your set! Hope to meet some new moms.

A statement watch. I love my Michael Kors gold watch. The face is large, and grabs attention. I always pay attention to woman that has a great watch, layered with bracelets to add a bit of an edge. A good watch will last you for years.

I would have to say my lovely copy cat ray ban sunglasses. As a mom i usually loose, break or find my kids playing with them. It is just not practical to spend a ton on sunglasses (especially since the styles are so ever changing!)

This style is so in and i am loving every minute with them!! (and since my kiddos just lost my brown pair, I'm off to buy a floral set!!!)

Few weeks ago I would write a long article about fashion and style and so on. But now I know that the most valuable for me is something self-made or hand-made.
It is unigue, no one have the same. My daughter has maybe twenty or more caps. Really unigue is knitted bra for example -
http://zeinerova.blogspot.com/2011/04/knitted-bra.html
I know knitted bra can see only one man. It also could be something tiny and cheap and easy to make like folded ribbon roses on your high heels -
http://zeinerova.blogspot.com/2011/04/how-to-make-large-folded-ribbon-roses.html
But the most cool is help strange people. It is easy to love your own children, but help someone in need and especially drug addicts, wants a great deal of love.

A great pair of jeans ! When out with the family and on the go, you often need something practical yet stylish and jeans are always in style. It is a must to have a great fitting pair since your hands are often full.

Some type of bella band! I wore mine pregnant, post-partum to help my tummy, and now I wear it under clothes if I need more coverage up top, or if I can't fit into a pair of pants now- use the band! I've even converted non-moms to the bella band! It's such a brilliant, useful tool! The black one is my favorite!

A SHIFT DRESS is a must have item in a mom's closet. VERSATILITY is the key. A nice neutral tone shift dress that flatters your figure is timeless through the seasons and can be accessorized (belt, scarves, etc) to fit the occasion. From grocery shopping, to office desk, to parent teacher conference to date night with your husband, you can't go wrong with a shift dress.

A crazy-stylish, totally chic (yet machine washable) lightweight jacket. There is one for every style sensibility: trench, army parka, moto jacket, blazer, cape (to name just a few)....and for every budget (from Target, Forever 21, Old Navy....to Burberry's Iconic Trench and Stella McCartney's gorgeous cape.)

Here's the thing: You could be wearing a spit-up stained t-shirt. You could be wearing ancient maternity jeans. Your boobs could be leaking milk....and it's all hidden away behind a gorgeous, stylish jacket. No matter the season (wear it out on cooler summer nights....or layer it over a cozy sweater in the winter)....a jacket turns any mom-drobe diaster into a cute mom-uniform.

What's not to love?

My personal fav right now is my trusty army parka (I wear it for a night out over a little dress & rock it with wellies at the park): http://www.aintnomomjeans.com/2011/02/my-spring-babywearing-uniform.html

The perfect red lipstick. A red lip is appropriate for every situation: pair with big sunglasses for the school run, with dramatic eye lashes for date night, or with your go-to outfit for a day at work. A red lip is easier than you think, once you find the right shade; look for light shades that you can layer, and go sheer for day. A great red lip is the perfect pick-me-up, always.

This is tough. Most of these fabulous bloggers have already hit the nail on the head! My top picks? Skinny jeans, brown boots, a printed scarf, classic sunglasses, a nice watch, and a cross-body bag. These should all be a staple in mommy's wardrobe.

For me, the most practical item in my closet is a fabulous hat. (actually, I have about 10!) If you're anything like me, it takes a lot of TIME to wash, dry, and style my hair. This is impossible every day with a newborn in the house. A quick fix? Throw on your best hat, some big earrings, and you're out the door. It's always an outfit pick-me-up.

Here are some ideas:

When you're a mom, practicality is a first priority. You are on the go all the time--play dates, school functions, sports, tutoring, activities, etc. There are many must have accessories that a mom should have that have been mentioned previously and all are standard staple accessories--a great handbag, scarves, boots, belts. All of these are great things that a fashionable mom should have.

But, in my opinion the one piece in my closet that I have found both PRACTICAL AND FASHIONABLE are my maxi dresses. A great maxi dress is versatile enough to take through all the seasons with ease. They are easy to layer for the cooler months and fantastic on their own for the warmer months. They are comfortable enough to take you from daytime activities or running around to night time activities of dinners with friends or girls night outs (do we even get those anymore?). A great maxi dress can be dressed up for the office or dressed down for a casual weekend look. I have quite a few maxi dresses, but each one was under $20. And at that price, to have a piece that is comfortable, fashionable, versatile and holds endless possibility, it is a piece worth investing in!

As a personal stylist, there quite a few things that I could recommend to every fashionable mom. 1) Skinny jeans. You can wear them with flats, heels, boots; dress them up or dress them down. No matter your shape, you can make these work with proper styling.

2) A scarf. Scarfs can add dimension and interest to an outfit and can be worn many different ways. See one of my examples on 6 ways to wear a circle scarf here

A large versatile handbag - that looks stylish but can fit in all the baby essentials - no need to carry a separate nappy bag which makes you look less stylish!

A morning spent in bed with hot coffee and a hubby. I cannot just choose one material possession as the all-important mom must-have; I read other answers thinking, "Sunglasses, absolutely. The perfect bag, no doubt about that one. A lasting pair of awesome boots, of course!" Then I thought of my own tried and true essentials that kept my mom-ness in my woman-ness, and red lipstick and good lingerie both jumped into my mind (and cobalt blue flats, glitter, a breast-feeding book - these are all fashionable, right?). But seriously, if I had to choose ONE, it would be those precious couple of early morning hours when the babies are still sleeping and my husband and I can be just us. No one else but us. What better way is there to refresh your spirit than to bask in love? Your flushed cheeks and sparkly eyes are the perfect fashion, and keeping your relationship fiery is, I think, pretty practical. Red lipstick and good lingerie are optional. Oh, and the hot coffee is brought to you by your darling man, so it doesn't count as a second; they come as one.

I think every fashionable but practical mom has to have a t-shirt dress! I love this dress in red ( http://click.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/click?id=EQeupXLDIUU&offerid=177488.12&type=2&subid=0 ) it's perfect for maternity and post, it's sexy but not inappropriate, it's long, it's form fitting and it would look amazing in heels with a stroller in hand. Yum!

A colorful purse! I am toting a green one right now! It can hold all the essentials and make even a simple outfit (tshirt and jeans) pop!

a good wallet! i can't help but feel like the older my daughter gets (and the more pregnant i get with my second), the more stuff i have to tote around. at first i had a massive kate spade wallet, then i switched to a tiny one in rebellion against the huge one taking up so much precious space in my bag, but the tiny one just made me cramp too much stuff into it that i could never later find. finally i purchased this superduper matt & nat vegan wallet that is just the right size with just the right compartments and it's earth-friendly (made without any animal products from recycled materials). i love when i can buy things that are smart, practical, and totally cute! i even bought one for my mom and mother-in-law in fun, bright colors!

a great pair of sunglasses! they're the pefect accessory anytime. plus, they hide the fact that you may not be wearing makeup. and the fact that you have bedhead in a messy bun. the best part? you can get them so cheap! my faves right now are from h&m- $4! you can't beat that.

A really excellent clutch that can be thrown into a bigger (diaper) bag if needed or carried separately. It should be dressy enough that it can be taken out at night or used on a date, but practical enough that a little spilled juice can come off it easily.

I'm currently loving this one here: http://www.rebagz.com/items/smwr1mag.html

and the one found below on my blog.

One practical, yet fashionable staple piece that I absolutely love is a scarf. There are so many great things about them. I love that I can wear one with jeans and a t-shirt or with a blazer and trousers. They're so versatile. Then, you have the numerous ways to wear them. It's like having 10 different accessories packed into one. And if you're like me and live where winter rears her ugly head, a scarf can also offer the added bonus of warmth. But I think the best thing about scarves is that you don't have to spend a lot. Some of my favorite scarves are ones I got on clearance for under $5.

i love fashion~but i also like inexpensive fashion! i think that every woman needs to have a versatile scarf that can dress up any outfit! you can wear a scarf when you are going out on the town, or you can wear it with a sweatshirt and pair of running shoes! there are many places that offer very affordable scarves to help accessorize your wardrobe! i also think that a good pair of sterling silver hoop earrings can compliment ANY outfit! again, when you are out on a 'date' or just running to the store, silver never goes out of style!!
