My 3 year old is obsessed with her Dr. Suess Stretchy ABC game. She's recently learned her letters and sounds and she loves showing off her knowledge with this fun and engaging game. It's basically twister for young children! http://www.teachingstars.com/2012/05/14/more-fun-than-a-barrel-of-monkeys/

My 5 year old son is HOOKED on Minecraft. He plays it on the computer, iPad and iPhone. He watches the YouTube videos that other Minecraft players make and copies what they do on the computer!

Argh, Minecraft! That's what I wrote about too. Isn't the game insane? It hurts my head all the things my boys create.

My oldest is into Mario games. He and his dad love to play the old school games together and I must admit it's like playing the game for the first time to watch my son!
My middle son is into anything cars, trucks, or machines. He is fascinated with how things work and will sit in the playroom for hours just rolling cars back and forth and watching the wheels move. Just look and see my middle child playing at the children's museum with...you guessed it...construction machines!

My 8 year daughter is obsessed with TagTailz and has collected about 10 of them. TagTailz are for girls to tie up their shirts with different themed charms and beads. They are cute and practical at the same time, so I don't mind buying them for her. Each morning she picks out one to match her outfit. Her favorites are the Peace Sign, Ballet Slippers, Softball and Dolphin. They have a variety for each girls personality - www.tagtailz.com

My daughter is 10 and loves skinny jeans. I'm not a fan of them; I think they make her look much older than she is. So, we compromise by buying the skinny jeans in a size larger than what she normally wears, so they aren't as 'skinny' on her.

My 3 boys ages 5.5, 5.5 (identical twins) and a few weeks shy of 4 are loving their beyblades! It's pretty much the only game that has held their interest for close to a year now- says a lot! http://www.toysrus.com/family/index.jsp?categoryId=4342395

Beyblades! WE had every single thing that came with that when my boys were younger. Oh, the memories.

Fortunately LEGOS never go out of style, and my almost-9 year old is hooked. The trend otherwise is Bey Blades, though he still plays with his Hex bugs. For the elementary school girls, colorful Duck tape provides hours of craft and lunch-time fun, as the girls make wallets, picture frames, tiny flip flops and other items out of it.

My 10 year old son (this Wednesday actually) is obsessed with Lego. This is not a passing fancy, however, he wants to be a Lego engineer someday. The little 300 piece sets are no challenge for him...he wants the giant 2000 piece sets that are meant for 14+ year olds. Last night he received the Town Hall for his birthday and spent the next 4.5 hours building. I had to force him to bed at midnight. Fortunately for him we live 10 minutes from Legoland and have a yearly pass...I know...lucky boy! This is what he is working on now...by himself...http://shop.lego.com/en-US/Town-Hall-10224.

He does also like Hexbugs but they are a far second to http://www.hexbug.com.

I have two boys, one is 11 and the other is 15. They are both very much into playing Minecraft. It's akin to a virtual LEGO world that has monsters, zombies, spiders, and lots and lots of building blocks. http://www.minecraft.net/

As if that wasn't bad enough there are also YouTube videos: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MmB9b5njVbA&feature=player_embedded

There is a Facebook page, a Tumblr page, and a Twitter too.

Now all they need is a secret decoder ring and they kids will be set. Oh! And a laptop cover because they are always using mine anyway.

My son is 3, and he's hooked on Fireman and Pirates. He spends so much time "in role" as a fireman or pirate, I get called "fire mum" and i make "fire lunch" etc. We recently did a whole day themed pirates, and he LOVED it and it continued for days. I'm trying to mix it up for him a bit though now.

Reagan who is 3 years old loves playing with his Cars toys. He has a little carpet that has a map of Radiator Springs on it and he loves to drive his cars all over the town. He is also big into his animal toys. We got a couple of bags from Lakeshore as well as from the Target dollar rack. He loves setting up zoos and playing with these wild animals!
