What's a great present under $30 for a toddler (between 18 and 36 months)?

Please say if it's good for a boy or a girl or both. Feel free to provide a link if you have one.

Dolls, blocks, pretend-play items such as child sized vacuums, mop, dress up clothes.

Lego Duplo or MegaBlocks that could bring many happy moments. Great for brain – this activity helps to build neuron connections, billions of them. This is the only time that this process goes very fast. So, I vote for anything that allows these boys and girls to tackle with their little fingers and hands, and of course eyes & hearing – these centers participate, too!

My kid's love Leapfrog's Fridge Phonics: Magnetic Alphabet Set. At first, they just liked sticking the magnets on the refrigerator. As they grow older they are learning how to spell lots of new words. The best part about is that this toy is both fun and educational.

I love the ImagiPLAY Fruit Cutting set.
Great for a boy or girl.
I've seen many other pretend fruit sets and this is by far the cutest. Comes in a wooden crate with a knife and cutting board as well as realistic looking fruit. My son spent over and hour cutting the fruit and putting it back together.
It's made from earth friendly rubberwood and lead free paint.

I would say anything with wheels :) for a boy. Maybe even one of those push mowers. My 20 mo. old pushes ours every single day almost. He loves it.

My son just loved his LEGO DUPLO blocks! Most kids love to build and between 18 to 36 months is when they get coordinated enough to work on building things.

A small tent that pops open, put a blanket under it to make it cozy and get a rubber flashlight. They wil take toys in it and play for quite a while.

I love the Mega Bloks Fill & Dump Wagon for either a boy or a girl. They have as much fun filling the wagon up with other toys and pushing it around as they do building with the blocks!

The Djeco Geoforme Magnetic toy is really great for kids aged 2 up to 8. Younger kids will enjoy making their own shapes with the magnetic pieces, and older kids will enjoy looking at the given cards and trying to recreate the objects. Plus, it all folds up into a handy and cute little wooden box. Great for both boys OR girls!

A great gift would be an active toy, kids at 18 months and up want to move around, jump and play. For my boys when they where a yr old I got them a vtech jungle gym : jump turtle and the giraffe bike, they like them so much its hard to yank them off, especially that it grows with them which is great. Since they three and now that there sister is a year they can share them with her!

The Sesame Street Playhouse. It comes with 2 characters and you can buy more. It's just like a "dollhouse" type thing but with sesame street characters...my son LOVES it...

I always look to Green Toys when in need of a great gift. My favorite right now is the Green Toys Pizza Parlor set. All their toys are made in the USA out of recycled milk jugs. They are sturdy and really well made while providing lots of fun and imaginative play time. They also double as a great bath toy. The set comes with a four piece pizza and a variety of toppings so your waiter can customize your pizza. They provide a little ordering checklist pad and a delivery box. It's perfect for a boy or girl on any occasion. It's my go-to gift!

My daughter absolutely LOVES the Super Sorting Pie from Learning Resources! This 68-piece set is both educational and fun. Not a day goes by that she doesn't play with it and I love the versatility of the lessons that can be taught using this toy. Definitely a great investment for both boys and girls!
