What's the most unique or fun way to announce a pregnancy that you've seen? Please share a link with a picture if it's relevant.
We didn't necessarily announce the pregnancy, as much as the gender. It was just a HUGE milestone that we couldn't help celebrating. My husband is a videographer, and he put this AMAZING video together that we shot at the beach in San Diego.
One of my preschool students brought us a photo Christmas card. It was a picture of the little girl and her parents. It read "Knowing that there are actually four people in this picture... priceless." I thought that was the coolest way ever of announcing a new baby!
My cousin did something adorable for her third. She took a picture of her husband holding her two girls, and herself cradling her belly. She used photoshop to add the text underneath - 3 + 2 = 5! To announce the gender, she created a collage entitled "what our kids are made of". One girl was holding a jar labeled "sugar", the other "spice" (written in pink), and mom held a jar against her belly reading "snips and snails and puppy dog tails" (in blue). Adorable.
I announced mine as "Coming in 2012...Baby N - the sequel!"
When a friend found out she was having a little boy, she did an announcement by sharing a photo of her bump with one of those cute little moustaches stuck on. It was very sweet.
I wish i had a lovely way, but in all honesty i only told close family and friends and kept it a big secret until the birth..then i annouced it to the world on a social media site.. nice suprise for everyone "me and Craig have just welcomed baby Rio into the world, 6lb6oz of perfection" ..for the sex of the baby we were planning on getting blue and pink cupcakes but never got round to it

Ha! That's easy! BLOGGING :)
My sister-in-law got her step-daughter to wear a shirt that said Big Sister on it. She also told her husband's parents by wrapping up a framed picture of her first ultrasound. And then she announced the sex by posting a picture of her step-daughter holding a itty-bitty onesie with a tutu that said, "Miss April". I posted a link to my post of how we announced ours. I had so much stress during my pregnancy, I never had time to think of cute, creative ways to announce my pregnancy.
My favorite announcement is the one where Dad is "pumping" Mom's stomach full of air at the gas station then POP! there's a baby. Way funny and cute and totally something I wish I'd thought of! We didn't really do an announcement for our current pregnancy, I just kind of mentioned it in a blog post. I think I offended some people doing it that way but oh well; you can't please everyone, right?
We thought that cupcakes with a question mark on the top in yellow icing and inside we had blue for a boy!. It was really nice when everyone took a bite to see weather we would be having a little boy or girl :) So much fun!
I personally didn't do anything that exciting. But a friend called me, chit-chatted, asked my how old my daughter was (odd question since I knew she knew the answer) and asked if that was old enough to babysit. And just today - a friend posted a pic of a sonogram with the baby "holding" a football :-)
Friend of mine waited till she was three months and then posted a picture on Facebook which had a pair of man's boots on the left, woman's sandals on the right and a tiny weenie pair of baby shoes in the middle. The caption was - we're expecting.
It was adorable!
When we found out we were having our 3rd we went to his parent's house who are very religious. My husband decided to do the prayer and he announced it at the end saying "And bless my wife who is expecting our baby in May." They were so excited to hear that.
Craft Idea for Baby Announcement: This is what I did for my pregnancy announcement of my son; I used two photos of my daughter and got a little creative. It still makes me smile when I look at her reactions! The link to see the photo is below:
Women are actually having sonogram baby announcement parties and all of the guests are leaving with their own copy of the fetus! Say what?! Have we really run out of ideas for parties? Pinterest is boring and Martha Stewart is a thing of the past?
I can't imagine, one hopping up on the table with all my BFFs and cousins, getting lubed up with KY jelly, lowering the lights and awaiting the oohs and aahhs from the "peanut gallery!"
However, if someone invited me to one of these shindigs...you bet your bloated ankles, I'd be there in a quickened heartbeat!
hmmm I haven't seen anything crazy. The usual sending a text of a sonogram, baby bump, pee stick. We, however, were going through IVF, was taking years, so when our trip to New Orleans popped up I wasn't canceling. ANyway I was standing on a corner with a bunch of good friends when my nurse called (beers in everyones hand) and said you better only be being served Odouls down there! It was great news and was a blast to scream it in the streets of New Orleans!
April Fools Day 2004: DH jokes that he thinks I'm pregnant. Turns out the joke was on him! April Fools Day, several years ago: a friend posted a Facebook status announcing that she *wasn't* pregnant. The comments were hilarious as people tried to figure out if she was fooling or not.
When my twin sister Sarah found out she was expecting a ??? she let us all know by having us meet up for breakfast. She put my daughter B in a shirt with the word “It’s” on it, her son in a shirt with “a” on it and made L two shirts one that read “girl!” and one that read “boy!” It was adorable and caused such excitement! L felt very important that she got to be the first to know if her new little cousin would be a boy or girl.

I love the pictures of the siblings with the "big brother" or "big sister" shirts. Also, announcing in pictures like with the husband kissing the belly and the mom like shouting out "we're having a baby" or something like that is cool too. For myself, I took a picture of the pregnancy test and sent an email out to the close friends and family and showed them that way....
We had fun surprising my family. At my son's 1st birthday, we decided it was time to let the "cat out of the bag" just before the cake. So we changed birthday boy's shirt, thanked all the guests for attending his special day, and said that HE had a special announcement to make. We turned him around and revealed his "big brother" shirt. Had everyone in tears!
For our 3rd child we mailed baby shoes to each of the grandparents. We lived in Illinois and they lived in North Dakota and Washington so this was so much more fun than a phone call!
