my son started smiling in his sleep at around 3-4 weeks of age. Real smile came later on at around 8-9 weeks. But once he started he does not stop, he even smiles and laughs at the ceiling :) It is like nothing, nothing and nothing but then one day it just happens and is everywhere.

Socially, anywhere from 4 weeks and up.
