My baby is 3 months old, hair loss already?!

Hi guys . I don't think losing hair at 3 months old is normal-- it indicates lack of vitamin D. Vitamin D gives good hair growth, strong nails. This is particularly true for babies born in winter, babies that don't have a chance to be in sunlight very often. My baby was born in October --- also due to our climate here, there is not much sun - so my paediatrician recommends giving baby Vitamin D every day until summer time. And it does help, my son has full head of hair and never lost any. His hair grows so quickly and is thick and strong !

its pretty normal, thats around the same time by boy started losing his hair too, it was really thin, and only the very top hairs stayed on because he obvs doesn't sleep on the top of his head ;) it looked funny hehe so we had to give him a little buzz cut... he's 9 months now and his hair is still pretty thin, starting to grow back a bit. i wouldn't worry

My 3 month old son is losing his hair fast and a lot at a time I thought it was dog hair on my bed and it was where I had laid him down for a few min. I thought something was wrong him losing it like that, just falling out.. It looks like he has a go-tee in the back and little bit of nothing in the front now. Thank you all for you experiences..

I agree its normal.. i used to put a silk piece of material on the top part of the mattress as it decreased the amount of hair loss.. it worked for me. if your worried its worth a shot. x

all my boys were born with a head full of hair..and then lost it..so Im assuming its pretty normal ..when their hair grew back..it was thicker and fuller..so in the end it was a good thing :)

also if its on the back of the head it could be hair loss from his head rubbing the fabric under his head, its normal

My 14 month old had the same thing happen...He was born with a head full of dark blackish hair and about at the 3 month mark it all fell out and grew back blonde...

It happens dont worry!

All my kids lost most of their baby hair. It is normal. It seemed like forever before my oldest grew his hair back. The other 2 didn't lose all their hair, but most of it. Their hair seems to be growing back in nicely. BTW, my oldest had lost all his hair by 3 months as well, and it was several months before it started to grow back. He now has fairly thick beautiful hair.

It is NORMAL. Both my sons had ickle bald patches on the back of their heads when they were babies ( so cute). They now have a full head of hair so no need to worry. xxxx

NORMAL!!! =) you dont have nothing to freak out about!! I did the same thing when my son was around that age! But it will grow back in no time! its his baby hair falling out, before you know it he will have a headfull of hair!!! =)

It's very normal. My son lost all but a mohawk when he was that age. And he shed about the same, too. My mom said I did it when I was a baby, too. I wouldn't worry about it. New hair is starting to sprout on my baby and instead of dark brown, it's a strawberry blonde.

My son lost all his hair right around 3 months.. he had almost a full head of hair so i thoguth i would never have a bald baby and then all of a sudden he had no. i was told it was normal and it is starting to grow back now... He has a lot more than he has in a long time LOL..

My youngest son lost his dark hair too and now has blond hair! especially at the back of his head where it rubbed on his bed clothes.But my oldest nevr did i think some babies do and some babies don't i shouldn't worry about it it will grow back.

It is so normal. My 3 month old just lost the top portion of his hair. He looks so funny, he has long hair in back and peach fuzz on the top. My 3 yr old lost all of his coal black hair at that age and it grew back blond. My 5 yr old lost his blond hair and it came back dark brown. He could be changing hair color.

I am not going to say for sure, this worried me about my son too but every baby looses there first hairs, my son was 4 months when i notced it and he it took a while. I was told it was normal.
