We're raising our daughter high raw vegan (& abolitionist!) from birth. Anyone got any good book recommendations? Evie's Kitchen has pretty decent nutrition info & is gorgeous, we eat mostly food from/like Ani Phyo's books, as well as a little cooked food with nutrients not as common to raw food, (eg cultured soy/tempeh/miso, lecithin, some lentils, beans, grains, occasionally starchy foods like potato, rice, or a little bread, nutritional yeast & B12 supplements...) Any tips on vegan kid-friendly uncookbooks?

I forgot to add: "The Vegan Family Cookbook" by Chef Brian P. McCarthy. We eat from this book all through the week. Morning waffles on page 117 are SO GOOD and I love that he gives lots of variations in the bottom notes. For example we do the variation that trades out some of the flour for ground flax seeds (sneaky, huh) and protein powder so I can get some good stuff into my son. shhh :) Page 228 has the best Peanut Butter Cookie recipe EVER. It uses maple syrup and they come out so moist and soft. Yummy. I made the Homemade Bread recipe today and took it to a bar-b-q. We use the Pizza Crust and Pizza Sauce recipe every Friday and the Spaghetti Sauce recipe comes out gorgeous. It's not a book for raw, but it's really good.

Disease Proof Your Child by Joel Fuhrman is an awesome read AND has recipes in the back. That way he gives the information and the tools to use it. I'm looking for an audio version for my hubby because he's too lazy to read.

I'm interested too... I hope some mom's reply to this convo! My husband and I are vegans and enjoy a lot of recipes from book 'the thrive diet' that might be kid friendly... raw walnut hempseed burgers, zucchini chips, sweet potatoe sesame pizza, garlic oregano yam fries..... and tons more great recipes that we've tried... i also just started reading The Idiots Guide for Vegan Eating for Kids... haven't gotten very far in it yet, but it seems good.

Monkey Mike's Raw Food Kitchen. I think I got it through Raw Divas. It's an ebook. I haven't made anything from it yet and I haven't looked at it in-depth yet, either. The pics are cute and I'm sure it's a great book!

Alyssa Cohen's Living Live Foods is great, too. I also love Green for Life, Victoria Boutenko, it's all about green smoothies.

Best of luck.
