I usually get the Spring Mix lettuce, or baby spinach. I like to add sliced almonds, cranraisins, feta cheese, sliced strrawberries, and blueberries. Add a raspberry vinaigrette.
Another favorite is spring mix, mushrooms, carrots, grape tomatoes, celery, green onion, red onion, bell pepper, sliced almonds or walnuts for a different crunch, and any type of cheese you like. Parmesan is great and low fat...but, you can use cheddar, jack, whatever pleases you.
Other great toppings for salads: banana peppers, olives, artichoke hearts, hard boiled eggs.

My problem with salads is knowing when to stop. I chuck *everything* in there. Cucumber, tomatoes, all the different kids of lettuce I can grab... celery, beans, grated carrot, sprouts...
By the time I'm done, there's a mountain of the stuff :P Then I have to try and make everyone else eat it too.
My best advice? Get three different types of lettuce and just lace it with one or two other things. There are so many salad flavours it's almost hilarious. Variety is the spice of life!

Romaine lettuce/or mixed greens
Yogurt raisins
Golden raisins
Blueberries
Sunflower seeds(without shells)
Feta cheese
Strawberries, cut in fourths
Chopped nuts (walnuts, pecans, etc.) any kind of nuts that you like
Brianna Poppyseed Dressing
Mix all the ingredients and add poppyseed dressing to taste. Makes a great summer salad.

My family loves this recipe! 1 1/2 heads lettuce, torn into bite-sized pieces; 3 stalks green onion, sliced; 1/2 cp blanched, sliced almonds; and 1/4 cp toasted sesame seeds. Dressing: 4 Tblsp sugar, 2 tsp salt, 3 tsp Accent, 1/2 tsp pepper, 4 Tblsp cider vinegar, and 1/2 cp vegetable oil. Combine in covered container and shake well. Pour over salad just before serving. If making early in the day, add the sesame seeds and almonds just before serving.

I'm not sure if you get Asian leaves where you are, but you could also use baby leaves.
Place leaves in a large salad bowl and add:
- sliced cucumber
- sliced tomato - quartered
- sliced zucchini (small ones)
- sprouts (if you like them)
- diced avocado
- sliced spring onion
I really like a creamy dressing:
ratio 1:4 creamy mayonnaise and full cream milk
add
- 1/2 teaspoon dried mixed herbs
- 1/4 teaspoon dried garlic
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
Place all dressing ingredients in a glass bottle, shake well and allow to stand for 30 minutes before using. The dressing keeps for a month in the fridge.
