Hello i've only been a stay at home mum for bout half a year, and im trying out new things i get feed up with things out of tins/jar, i can't master a rice sause please tell me what u make with rice, thanks x

Hamburger Rice Casserole





 





1 lb. Ground beef, browned



1 onion chopped and cooked with beef



1 can Cream mushroom soup, undiluted



1 can Cream of Chicken Soup, undiluted



¼ cup Soy sauce



½ cup quick cook rice



1 cup water



1 can Chinese rice noodles



After browning beef and onions, drain fat. Add soups and soy sauce and mix well. Stir in uncooked rice and water. Place in ungreased casserole dish and bake covered for 50 minutes. Uncover and add the rice noodles, bake for 10 minutes more.



 



This was LOVED by EVERY kid in my daycare and my whole family likes it...Grandma knew how to feed us!

Sizzling Rice Soup

 







1 cup uncooked long grain rice



8 cup chicken broth



2 cups cooked chicken, cubed



2 cups sliced mushrooms



¼ cup chopped green onions



1 can (8 oz) bamboo shoots, drained



1 can (8oz) water chestnuts, drained



4 chicken bouillon cubes



½ tsp garlic powder



1 package frozen peas (10oz)



¼ cups cooking oil



Cook rice according to package directions. Spread on a greased cookie sheet or baking pan. Bake at 325* fir 2 hours or until dried and browned, stirring occasionally; set aside. In a large soup kettle or Dutch oven combine the broth, chicken, mushrooms, onions, bamboo, chestnuts, bouillon and garlic powder. Cover and simmer for 1 hour. Add peas, cook for 15 min. more. Just before serving heat oil in skillet, fry rice till slightly puffed . Ladle soup into serving bowls and immediately spoon hot rice into each bowl and it will sizzle.

Chinese Beef and Rice





2/3 cup rice



2 tbsp veg oil



1 ½ tsp salt



1 ½ cup boiling water



1 beef bouillon cube



2 tsp soy sauce



1 med onion, chopped



2 celery ribs, chopped



1 green pepper, chopped



1 ½ cups cooked, diced beef



Cook rice in hot oil over med heat till brown. Add salt, water, bouillon cube & soy sauce, Cover and simmer 20 minutes. Add the rest of the ingredients, cover and simmer 10 minutes more-or till water is absorbed and rice is tender.

i have two fairly good recipes for rice.

spanish rice- cook rice according to directions. meanwhile brown up some hamburger and add some onion and green pepper if you like. salt and pepper. then mix that with the rice add a jar of spaghetti sauce stir and heat through. i like to sprinkle parmisean cheese on top...or sometimes some feta cheese.



chicken and rice casserole- make rice according to directions. brown up some chicken...i like those tenders- they cook in minutes. cut up into bite sized pieces. make up a bag of peas or broccoli...i get the steam in bag ones but the other ones work just fine too. once everything is cooked...mix all ingredients in a casserole dish...add a can or 2 of cream of chicken or cream of mushroom soup and a cup of shredded cheddar cheese. mix well. add salt and pepper to taste. bake uncovered at 350 degrees for about 30 minutes.
