I would really like to start eating healthy with my 10 month old son. I don't want him eating unhealthy because of me. He's a good eater, but I'm so bad at eating out so much that I take him along with me. I love Asian food a lot so if anyone has any good recipes on making it at home, I would really love ya. I've made a decision not to eat out as much and so I would really like some advice in order for me to get on the roll before I get overweight and than fall into depression. Thanks.

I just had a baby 4 months ago. Im trying to eat healthier too. This morning I went to the farm stand and bought some peppers....red, green, yellow and orange, a portobella mushroom, red onion, cherry tomatoes and zuchini. I left the peel on everything but cut them in thick strips. Threw it in a ziplock bag marinating in the fridge in italian dressing (you can use an asian marinate if you like) and I also threw in some shrimp too. Ill grill it up tonight! Its so fresh and healthy and a good choice for something light but filling for summertime. The entire meal was under $5. too! If you like meat you can grill up some chicken sausage instead of the pork sausage as its healhier choice.

Some tips Im following are: Just make smarter desicions and fill up on a tall glass of water before each meal. Do not drink soda...drink water but if you *need* that soda with dinner then have a smalll glass of Seltzer (black cherry is a fav here) during the 2nd part of your meal. Try to use a smaller salad plate instead of a dinner plate and eat the vegtables as a main course and the meat or pasta as a small side. Go with fresh produce if you can as I have noticed I eat more fresh vegtables as the main course vs if they are frozen or in a can. Sometimes I eat a yam as a main dish and cook it really long - like 3 hours covered in aluminum foil - so I dont need butter with it.

Hi Jessica. I found a diet that should help. I found it at Babycenter.com. It is actually a diet for women who are trying to get pregnant, but the diet makes so much sense, that I think it can be used for weight loss. When you get to the page, look for the articles tab. The article is called the truth about food and fertility. I hope this helps.

Thank you so much for the advice. I will keep that in my notes and look into diabetic cooking books since my mother is diabetic and I need her to get healthy so that she can still be here when my son grows up. THANKS!!!

HI Jessica, hint in shopping for healthy living foods. When buying foods purchase low carb and low sugar levels in products. No potatoes, No pasta, u can also look for these food types in a diabetic cooking book. BUt we all need carbs in our diets so have carbs when u r doing activities like sports walking etc. so u can burn off what u have eaten. But when u r not going to be active after eating, then eat low carbs.
