fried rice is best cooked with "overnight" rice (e.g cook it at night, refrigerate and use the next day) otherwise using fresh rice can make the dish a bit mushy.
marinate the beef strips (use beef schnitzel or skirt steak cut into thin slivers) with some pepper, soy sauce, bit of sugar, oyster sauce and corn flour.and if you like, a squize of sherry
next fry a nice thick ommelette, cut up into chunks/strips and set aside.
then, fry some chopped onions, followed by garlic and then a bit of soy sauce (careful not to burn it), quickly followed by the thawed frozen veg (carrots , peas and sweetcorn work best). Add the beef in and when half cooked stir in the white rice and ommelette chunks, add salt and pepper for taste and a small dash of sesame seed oil. voila!
if you try it, do let me know how it turns out ;-D
I really like the recipe Pam Pam suggested, i am a huge fan of Chinese food but because i am, i really want it to taste good and to taste Chinese that's why i usually don't attempt to make it at home, however this recipe seems easy, simple, quick and tasty... Thanx.
Will definitely try it out tonight... okay tomorrow night (since the rice is best kept overnight!) Thanx again... and if you've got any more such recipes, please keep them coming. Samantha.

This is how I make chicken fried rice, I'm sure you can use it w/ beef...
prepare rice like you normally would, in a separate pan cook meat (set aside) then scramble an egg add 3 TBS of soy sauce, 3 TBS of water or white wine. Once the eggs are cooked add the rice and meat. I add a bag of frozen veggies when I make it. I hope this helps you and you enjoy it.Have fun cooking and experimenting with ingredients.
