One of my favorite meals when eating out is "Chicken, Brocolli Alfredo with Bacon". I would love to know how I can create this wonderful meal at home for my family. I don't know how to make the creamy alfredo sauce from scratch. I usually buy the alfredo sauce in a bottle, ready-made!!!

I have seen many alfredo sauce recipes online, but I need one that you know is scrumptious! So I dont waste time going through too many bad ones... I am open to other quick and low-fat chicken recipe too!!

Thanks ladies...

I have been using this alfredo sauce from scratch recipe for approx 3 yrs. I don't like the jar alfredo sauce and am in love with the Olive Garden's and this is as close as it gets to their recipe and it is super quick and easy. I have added chicken and broccoli to mine also. I simply grill my chicken with a little garlic salt and pepper and steam the broccoli then mix it all together.

Ingredients:

2 cups heavy cream

1/8 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 cup butter

1/8 teaspoon pepper

1/4 cup parmesan cheese (I use the kraft grated parmesan but I imagine you could use fresh or whatever else you prefer)

Directions:

Add all ingredients in a medium sauce pan, let simmer for 12 minutes or until the desired consistency is reached.

Hope you enjoy!

This is the recipe for alfredo sauce from scratch that I used when I was cooking for a little restaurant while I was going back to school. this only makes one serving at a time but is easily doubled for any number of people.

2 cups heavy cream (approx)

1/4 c parmesan cheese (approx)

fresh ground pepper

minced garlic

Bring heavy cream to a boil in a sautee pan then add parmesan. Do this very quickly as cream burns rapidly. When it is the consistency you want, take off burner and add pepper and garlic to taste. If sauce is too thick, thin with a little cream, with pan off the burner

When using chicken, make sure it is grilled for the best flavor

Shannon MacDowell's alfredo sauce recipe is the same one I use. I add a little more garlic because we like it and I agree that it is the closest thing to the Olive Garden.
