My husband who is not much of a cook, but can follow basic directions with the help of our teenagers is trying to cook for me while i am off my feet post surgery. Can anyone suggest some basic good, homey recipes ...... Would SOOooo Appreciate IT !_!_!_!_!

Great easy pot roast- for crock pot



1 beef roast

1 can chopped tomatoes

1-2 tsp garlic powder

1 lg. onion chopped

1 potato per family member

1 package baby carrots

3 stalks celery chopped



In crock pot place onions then roast. Mix garlic with tomatoes and pour over roast. Add potatoes, celery and carrots. Cook low for 8 hours or high for 4. Super simple can be thrown together in am and ready by dinner. Gotta love crock pots!

really easy

one pound lean ground beef cook in large frying pan and drain off fat

Pour one can of Campbell's Cream of Mushroom soup make sure it is CREAM of

over cooked beef and leave on stove on low to heat through.

Peel and boil potatoes and mash with milk and butter

Steam a green veggie like green beans or brocolli

plate and serve.

This is real comfort food adjust the quantities based on age and size of appetites

Here is one super easy and super yummy Buy some pork back ribs and cut them in to singles place in roaster now add 3-4 cups sliced white mushrooms in another bowl add 3 cans of Campbells tomato soup and 1and 1/2 cans water stir and pour over the ribs now add salt and pepper and garlic salt to taste place in 350 degree oven for 2 1/2 hours then I sprinkle in a little of Knorr Veloutine to thicken the sauce a little bake an extra 1/2 hour and your good to go ** we always have mashed potato with this and use the sauce as a gravy the meat just falls off the ribs Enjoy !

Have him get a beef pot roast boil it till its soft about 3 hours or more.
Boil with garlic salt and a bay leaf.
Let cool and shredd the meat. Put in pot and throw in a jar of Pace Mild hot sauce stir in until coated. You can make burritos, tacos or just eat it like that with rice and beans. Also buy boneless chicken cut it up and mix with cream of chicken add frozen peas and carrotsHope u feel better

I love to make Easy Chicken and Dumplings! It's hearty and it's so simple. My 11 month old loves it too!



1 can each of cr. chicken and cr. mushroom soup

1 1/2 cans water

1 cooked chicken breast per person, cubed

2 crushed chicken boulion cubes

I will add fozen peas, celery, whatever veggie you want

Cook in crock pot on high for 4 hours



Add dumplings in the last 1/2 hour



Bisquick recipe from box. Just drop by spoon full onto top of mixture. After 1/2 hour, serve! It's awesome!!

Hi Naomi,

I have a recipe that we think is great and best of all it's easy. We call it mexican corn bread.

For a Family of 5 You need 2lbs of ground beef, 1 pack of Mexican or taco blend shredded cheese, 2 pks Taco seasoning, 2 cans of whole kernel corn and 2 boxes of Jiffy Mix.

Brown the ground beef
add the taco seasoning (follow the directions on the pack)
Mix the two boxes of Jiffy Mix (follow the directions on the box)
In a 9" x 13" Rectangular Baking Pan Layer The Ingredients:
Ground beef
Corn
Cheese
Jiffy Mix

Bake it following the Jiffy Mix Instructions and once done cut square portions. Remove with a Spatula or Large Cooking Spoon.

This is really easy and really good.
Crock pot Chicken

4-5 boneless skinless chicken breast
1 stick butter
1 package dry italian dressing
put in crock pot on low in morning let cook all day
shred chicken and add
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 pkg cream cheese
mix
cook noodles, macaroni, rotini or whatever pasta you would like
add chicken mixture to pasta and mix

Dinner is ready, Enjoy!!

sounds strange but really good and really easy
boil ground beef and drain,make mashed potatoes and mix it all with cream corn and add ketchup to taste.

Red beans and sauage always puts a smile on my kids face.. I would go all out and soak my dried kidney beans, but I found out most brands make the best beans in the can-- just open add seasoning... and drop the sausage in and heat until boiling...serve over rice...it goes a long way

How about breakfast for dinner? Pancakes (made from a mix!) with scrambled eggs? Scrambled eggs on toast with cheese, or on toasted English muffins? Or maybe Meatball Subs: frozen pre-cooked meatballs, thawed in microwave. Mix with spaghetti sauce/tomato sauce and microwave until just warmed through. Place desired number of meatballs onto sub buns or hot dog buns. Sprinkle with mozarella cheese (or any kind of cheese) and bake in the oven until the cheese melts (about 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes). And here's a crock-pot recipe: 1 package frozen beef ravioli or cheese ravioli, a jar or two of spaghetti sauce, and mozarella cheese. Mix all together in the crock pot and cook on low for 4-6 hours. Try this...have them go to Wal-Mart in the mac-n-cheese section and buy the Macaroni Grill dinner in a box! They have Chicken Marsala, Chicken Alfredo, ect... It is so good, tastes like the resturant! Just add chicken!

here is my recipe for Simple Country pork spareribs



1-3lbs of spareribs

1c of dark brown sugar

1c of ketchup

4tbsp worcestershire sauce

2tbsp of vinegar

dash of red pepper



Boil ribs in large pot for about 45 mins or til tender. place in baking dish, mix other ingredients until smooth. place over ribs bake in oven about 45 mins@50 degrees

If you have a crockpot, I've got a fantastic and easy recipe! This iss called taco soup and you can use everything canned. 2 cans Pinto beans, 2 cans Black beans, 2 cans Whole kernel corn, 2 cans Chilli beans, 2 cans of chicken or Rotisserie chicken pulled off the bone, 2 cans mushrooms, 1 can tomato sauce, 1 can tomato paste, 1 pack Ranch dressing, 1 pack Taco seasoning. Put all the ingredients in the crockpot and cook on low all day long, or on high for 2 hours. You'll have leftovers and this freezes beautifully! I hope you're recovering nicely, and you're up and about soon!

a few quick and easy recipies that come to mind are:

Tuna and Noodles

Boil water, add egg noodles, once tender drain. Add one or two cans drained tuna and a can or two mushroom soup. Quick and easy.



Mock beef stroganoff

cook 1 pound ground beef, with onions and garlic, drain. In the mean time boil egg noodles or any noodles you have.. drain. Combine the beef and noodles with mushroom soup and 1/2 cup sour cream..



Mock lasagna

do the same as above, except omit sour cream and add cottage cheese or riccotta and top with cheese and bake for 20 minutes..
