Ground Deer Meat Recipes?

Venison Chili is DELICIOUS.
-Brown the meat, 1 lb.
-Sautee together: one chopped onion, 1 green or red bell pepper, 3 cloves garlic.
-Add 2 Tbs chili powder, 1 Tbs ground cumin, 1 Tbs paprika, 2 Tbs dried oregano, 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (or more if you want) 3 coarsely chopped tomatoes, 1 can of rinsed canned black beans, and 1.5 Cups of water. Simmer for about 40 minutes to an hour,stirring occasionally. add more water if it gets too thick. Serve over cornbread.

As stated by others, ANYTHING you would make with ground beef can be done with ground venison. When we get our deer meat processed, we have the butcher mix it 50/50 with ground beef (we do not add additional fat). Still very lean but tastes better than straight venison and not so dry. If you have issues with flavor of venison , then use it in spicy Mexican caseroles and Italian dishes like lasagna and spaghetti.

I am a hunter so always have deer meat in the freezer. I use mine just like hamberger you buy in the store. If you don't care for the flavor mix it half and half with regular hamberger.
I mix the deer meat with taco seasoning and make meat loaf. One packet to a pound of meat. Bake as usual. Good Luck

You can make anything with the deer meat- just as you would regular hamburger- except it is actually a lot healthier since it is a leaner meat! Something with more seasoning is good, like burrito's with taco seasoning or spaghetti, because if you arent used to the taste (it is very similar to hamburger, but not exactly the same) you might not like it. But if you season it right or don't just eat it plain, you can eat it with anything!! Yumm! Enjoy!

did it come ground already? caus the lettle bit of fat that it does have is what makes it taste gamey. the meat itself does not taste bad an dyou can cook it just about any way you want. if its already ground, cook it like hamburger. taco meat, whatever. if its whole meat, cut all fat off and tendons out, and you can cook it like a steak and eat it or slice the cooked steaks and make them into a sandwhich with sliced pickle, mmm sooo good! or you can bread chunks in flour and fry them, or you can cut chunks and fry them in taco seasioning and make tacos that way. and those are my favorite ways to eat venison.

My husband hunts so our freezer is always stocked with wild meat. You can make anything you would make with regular ground beef, deer meat is really lean so its nice in meatloafs because your not left with a bunch of grease on the bottom.
