You could make a couldron cake using a bundt cake pan. Then put dry ice in a cup in the center to give it a spooky effect.

Slime Punch (Variation of a recipe found at Allrecipes.com)

Give a pretty punchbowl a ghastly makeover for your Halloween party by filling it with foaming, green punch. This potent brew has a hint of slime…uh, lime…and is frighteningly simple to pull together at the last minute (no eye of newt or toe of frog required).

You can add plastic bugs frozen in ice cubes or even gummy worms to make it fun!

1 2-quart container lime sherbet

1 2 liter of 7-up type soda

1 can of pineapple juice

Empty entire container of lime sherbet into punch bowl. Slowly pour in 7-up, then pineapple juice. Set out cups with spider ice cubes, and serve.

heres a few fast ones !!

mozzarella cheese string fingers

take mozzarella cheesestrings and cut in 1/2

just below the rounded edges of each 1/2 crve out a shallow area for a fingernail

then mark the finger joints by carving out tiny horizontal wedges

cut fingernail from red or green peppers and use a dab of cream cheese to stick the nails to the fingers

melon Brain

Take a small seedless watermelon and using a veggie peeler remove the greeen rind exposing the white pulp

slice off the bottom of the melon so that it will sit flat

with a tooth pick outline squiggly furrows that resemble the folded surface of the brain

lastly carve narrow channels along the tracings with a sharp paring knife to expose the pink flesh of the watermelon!! lol this is a crowd pleaser

Apple bites

quarter and core an apple

cut a wedge from the skin side of the apple quarter making an open mouth

(the skin becomes the lips)

press slivered almonds in place for teeth

you can also make mummy toes...lol

mummy toes

cut hotdogs in 1/2 boil in water for a short time

remove and cool slightly

on the rounded tip cut out a small divot for the "nail"

take a flour tortilla and cut into strips for the bandages

wrap the non rounded end with the tortilla

take ketchup and make the nail out of ketchup! voila! mummy toes

I hope you have a very happy halloween ! I have more recipes if you are interested let me know!

go on the martha stewart website. in her magazine a few years ago, she made these amazing monster cupcakes, she has the best halloween ideas. fill a rubber glove with juice. freeze it. remove the glove. then place it in the punch bowl. make sugar cookies in the shape of fingers, with a pistachio for a fingernail. i was at a party where they covered a cheese ball in poppyseeds and added black pipe cleaners for legs, so that it looked like a spider.

have fun!

Pumpkin cakes are great & easy. make 2 bunt cakes, flip one over set the other on top, ice with orange frosting use a ice cream cone for the stem.
