My fiance whips up a bunch of egg dips the bread in then fries. Then he spreads cream cheese and adds banana slices

I use milk, eggs, cinnamon, vanilla and definitely a loaf of italian or french bread. Cook it up on a griddle and serve it up with syrup and confectioner's sugar. Delish!

I like to use a splash of extracts (vanilla or almond) along with flavored Liquors (Ammaretto, Frangelico, Malibu coconut rum) we have on hand to the egg/milk mixture and cook as usual tastes fabulous and is a quick way to change up the plain old recipe. the coffee creamer trick also works and is delicious every time.

So I pre-heat my pan over medium Heat. While this is heating I mix eggs( about 4 to 5 for a family of 4), add a little milk and beat with a fork. Then I add about 1 tsp of vanilla and enough Cinnamon to cover the top. Then mix again. I also add more Cinnamon as needed as I cook. Dip the bread in mix till both sides are covered but not soaked. Cook till golden brown then flip and do other side.

I follow everyone else with the egg + milk + cinnamon + vanilla and whatever bread we have on hand. Cinnamon Raisin bread is really yummy or Texas Toast. I will also freeze any leftovers--Just be sure to put wax or parchment paper between pieces.

I mix up egg milk cinnamon vanilla and a bit of lemon juice, dip the bread in both sides then fry.

I sometimes buy the frozen, most of the time I make it the way you do, unless I am making PB&J french toast or if i am making hawaiin sweet bread french toast i do it that way you do, but use Hawaiian bread yum

Praline French Toast Recipe

Ingredients
9 eggs, lightly beaten
3 cups half-and-half cream
1/3 cup sugar
1-1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon or nutmeg
24 to 30 slices French bread (3/4 inch thick)

PRALINE SYRUP:
1-1/2 cups packed brown sugar
1/2 cup corn syrup
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup chopped pecans, toasted
2 tablespoons butter
Directions
In a large bowl, whisk the eggs, cream, sugar, vanilla and cinnamon. Arrange bread in a single layer in two greased 15-in. x 10-in. x 1-in. baking pans. Pour egg mixture over bread. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
Remove from the refrigerator 30 minutes before baking. Bake, uncovered, at 400° for 20-25 minutes or until a knife inserted near the center comes out clean.
Meanwhile, for syrup, combine the brown sugar, corn syrup and water in a saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, for 3 minutes. Stir in pecans and butter; simmer 2 minutes longer. Serve with French toast. Yield: 10-12 servings.

I make mine with egg and cinnamon and vanilla and instead of milk I use some liquid creamer the stuff you use for coffee most of the time I have french vanilla and add that in I use the eggnog stuff when its in season and it is sooo good and then I put butter and sugar on ours when they are done yummy!!

I use stale bread if I have it. I mix eggs and milk together, sprinkle nutmeg and cinnamon on top and add 1 tsp. vanilla. Love it!

the kids love to make them with the egg batter adding the cinnamon sugar and a bit of milk and we serve them with cantelop of straberries...

When we make French Toast we make it really extravagant. We usually buy a big loaf of French Bread, and the slice it, dip in egg, and fry. Then we usually cut up some Bananas, and make a vanilla/banana custard filling so it is like a French toast sandwich. Then we sprinkle with some icing sugar.
