Hi, my son is turning 3 and I thought about baking his cake in the shape of a truck, I must be mad!
Anyone has some tips in how to mount the cake?
cheers

Thanks Karina! Great tips. I'll follow them and good idea using straws as the exhaust pipe. I'll post a message after I bake it to let you know.
Cheers

hello, you could use a loaf pan for the back of the truck and mini muffins as the wheels. i find piping the shape of the truck on the cake was easier than cutting the truck shape from the cake itself.
you could use 'bendy' straws as the exhaust stacks and licorice strap as the mud flaps etc.
also freezing the cake prior to icing helps with less crumbs.
using a wooden kebob stick helps with securing all the parts of the truck together.
good luck and remember if we were all as good as martha stewart we would have our own show!!!
all the best,
karina (australia)
