you don't need a receipe. I use Genesis 950 cleaner and it removes everything - makes the carpets like new.

mm Resolve for heavy traffic area Rug Spray. You vacume first, then spray and let dry and vacume again. It gets rid of the filth but Woolite with Scotchgaurd smells waaay better and helps to protect in the future. I invested in a Bissel Carpet Cleaner (the one that looks like a vacume cleaner) from Wal Mart. But the Woolite Brand with Scotch gaurd smells and protects the best.

Go to a Pet store and get an enzyme based urine remover - the kind you pour on and leave - it used to be called Petzyme - I think there is one now called urine off you can order online - works GREAT! This stuff removes all kinds of stains and smells because it brakes it down on a molecular level!

I find for other stains doing baking soda and pushing it into the carpet fibers like with a scrub brush - then pouring vinegar over it (yes foam action and all) does great - in fact I do this to make my dirty carpets shine! a couple of hits with a scrub brush and let it dry on its own - it requires more hand and knee time then a steam cleaner - but its a LOT better and brighter I think!

Pet smart has a product that works to get the stain and odor out called natures miracle. It works wonders on all urine and poop stains. It works on killing the enzymes wich breakdown up the stain. It is nontoxic. Here is a link so you know what you are looking for. It works on human smells and stains also.: http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.js...

Along the same lines, I need advice on how to get rid of the pet urine and poop smell out of tile and artificial flooring (no rugs). None of our dogs are totally potty trained - they spend the day outside and then come inside to do their business. It's like walking on mind fields - no knowing where to step. I cannot seem to get the constant smell out of my home. Any suggestions (short of getting rid of the animals)? Thanks.

We do the following to help with pet urine:

Spray vinegar all over the carpet. Let it dry.

Then spray rubbing alcohol on the carpet and sprinkle baking soda on top.

That that dry then vacuum up excess baking soda.

It really works well.

Dry clean it proffessionaly, easy, but if u r up for hard work pre wet the carpet with a spray bottle then put bi carb on top let sit for a few hours then put towel on top, walk over it to draw up bi carb then give it a good vacuum then spray heavily with glen 20. Leave a bowl of bi carb in room for a few days to draw up excess moisture.

I did a baking soda and vinegar paste on some cat pee stains. After the paste dried I vacuumed it up.

We use rubbing alcohol on our pets accidents. I got that advice from a carpet steaming company after they cleaned our carpets. It works really well!

Try sprinkling baking soda on it and letting it sit for a couple of hours and vacume it up. Do it again. Should help with the smell - or try the stuff that gets pet urine out of carpets. Hope that helps!
