Family style Quesadilla's, I put out homemade tortilla's ( you can use packaged too) and then a bunch of different things to go inside, chicken, beef, tomatoes, peppers, cheese, chilli's, sour cream, guacamole, salsa, onions, and whatever else I happen to have on hand. The family makes their own and my son absolutely loves it because he is "cooking" if I make it he doesn't want to eat it but if he does, he gobbles it up. Then after he gets it together Mom pops it in the oven at 400 for about 10 minutes and he has a nice quesadilla that he helped create. I have found almost any meal if you let them help prepare it gets eaten up much better. My son hates "meat" yet if I let him build his own hot of the grill cheeseburger he eats the whole thing.

And pizza bread ! mini pizza's on bread slices, brown ground beef add a jar of spagetti sauce, put a couple of tablespoos of sauce on bread placed on a cookie sheet, add toppings of your kids choice ie sliced meats cut into small pieces, pineapple bits, and grated cheese topping baked at 400F for fifteen minutes allow to cool for five minutes so kids don't burn the top of their mouths. and eat. usually two to three pieces per child.

Slops! actually shepherds pie, simplified ie, ground beast with gravy spooned over mashed potatoes, you can sneak in turnip cooked with the potatoes for extra fibre and vitamins, with a side of corn niblets, or sliced cooked carrots, or pickled beets.

Chicken pieces in barbeque sauce with scalloped potatoes

Steak and baked potatoes with the fixin's

spagetti and meat sauce

Beef stew or chicken pie with biscuit topping

my children love my baked ziti.
i use my homemade spaghetti sauce, 2 cups. 2 cups of beschamel sauce. 1 box of ziti or rigatoni (it's hard to find ziti where i live, lol), a ball or two (depending on how cheesy you like it) of fresh mozzarella cut into cubes. mix that all together and top with fresh breadcrumbs. bake at 425 for 20 minutes.
i serve a little salad and garlic bread. :) if you want recipes on how to make sauce, or beschamel or whatever just say so, i'd be happy to give them to you. :)

My kids' favorites are spaghetti, chicken, pizza, burgers. And I have easy, healthy ways to prepare them all (I'm a dietitian). Let me know some of your kids' favorites, and I'll be glad to post some simple recipes. I have some free info on my website that has healthier ways to prepare foods for kids, including mac and cheese! It's at http://www.amymcarthurnutrition.com if you're interested. :)

I completely agree with Michelle--those are all standbys at my house. For the baked chicken though, we like to experiment with different breading. . .rice krispies mixed with powdered ranch, doritos, sun chips, potato chips, corn flakes. My family's all time favorite is this Ravioli recipe. Since it uses canned tomatoes instead of sauce, my picky eater can eat the plain ravioli. And once the spinach is wilted, no one minds the flavor at all. Enjoy!
BTW--I skip the jalapeno, usually use milk instead of cream, and use whatever white cheese is in the house.

Zesty Ravioli Skillet

1/3 cup whipping cream
4 cups loosely packed fresh baby spinach leaves
6 oz provolone cheese, grated
1 tbsp olive oil
1 small jalapeño pepper, seeded
3 garlic cloves, pressed
2 cans (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes with onions, undrained
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp coarsely ground black pepper
1 pkg small frozen cheese ravioli (about 65)

Measure cream using Easy Read Measuring Cup. Wash spinach in large Stainless Mesh Colander; drain. Grate cheese using Ultimate Mandoline fitted with grating blade. Set aside cream, spinach and cheese.

Add oil to (12-in./30-cm) Skillet; heat over medium-high heat 1-3 minutes or until shimmering. Finely chop jalapeño with Food Chopper. Add jalapeño to Skillet; cook and stir 1 minute or until crisp-tender. Press garlic into Skillet with Garlic Press; cook and stir 15-20 seconds or until fragrant.

Add tomatoes, salt and black pepper to Skillet; cook and stir with Bamboo Spatula 1-2 minutes or until simmering. Add ravioli; stir to coat. Cook, uncovered, 4-5 minutes or until tender. Stir cream into Skillet. Cook, uncovered, 1-2 minutes or until simmering. Sprinkle spinach over ravioli; cook, covered, 1 minute or until spinach starts to wilt.

Remove Skillet from heat. Top with cheese; cover Skillet and let stand 1-2 minutes or until cheese is melted.
