Need a killer appetizer to serve this weekend!!!

Hi ladies, I'm hosting a recipe swap at my house this weekend and each person is making either their favorite appetizer or a brand new one to try on everyone. I don't want to make the same thing I make every time, so I need your help! Anyone have an appetizer that will knock their socks off?

here's something we do often get flour tortillas.. cream cheese, green chilies(chopped), diced onions. mix the cheese, chilies, and onion together then spread on the tortilla. roll up the tortilla and slice so you kinda have pinwheels. really good...

I just made bacon wrapped lil smokies for a party last weekend & they were a HUGE hit.
1 pck lil smokies
1/2 lb of bacon
1cup brown sugar
Cut each piece of bacon into thirds, wrap each smokie in a slice of the bacon & secure with toothpick. Put all wrapped lil smokies in a large freezer bag & pour the brown sugar over. Let sit in the fridge overnight(or at least an hour or 2). Place on broiler pan & bake at 350 for about 45 minutes until bacon is crispy. SUPER DELICIOUS:)

Baked Potato Dip

2pkg cream cheese
1 tub sour cream
5 or 6 slices of bacon
green onion
parm cheese
shredded cheddar cheese
mayonnaise

Cook bacon and tear into tiny pieces. Chop green onions, In a large bowl mix cream cheese with sour cream, mayo and cheeses. Put the two packages of cream cheese in there then add the sour cream and mayonnaise till you get a good consistency and it is fairly easy to mix. Add shredded cheese, green onion, bacon and parm cheese.
Heat in microwave for maybe a minute and serve in a bowl or Hawaiian bread.. The best chips with it are original ruffles.

I have a dip thats great always gone over well,

1 block cream cheese
1 can chili with no beans
1 block of pepper-jack cheese
fresh chives

on cookie sheet or similar sized oven safe dish spread cream cheese in even layer followed by chili and then a layer of the pepper-jack cheese sliced thin. Chop chives and sprinkle over top bake in 400 degree oven till pepper-jack is melted serve warm with tortilla chips. Great for all sorts of occasions actually my husband won't watch a football game without it

How about mini sundaes?
Won ton wrappers
sprwy whip cream
choc. syrup
mars. cherries
choppped nuts
or
tuna salad
ham salad
rotel cheese dip

Spray a small size cupcake /muffin pan. Place wonton wraps in cups of pan making and shell. Bake 5 to 10 m inutes at 350. Let cool. For the sundaes. squirt whip cream in each cup, decorate withe other sundae ingredients. If you choose to use the salads, just place a dab inside the shell and garnish with a bit of shredded cheese or sprig of parsley.

Here is a recipe I think you will like. I copied it for you from my Busy People's Low Carb cookbook. It is super delicious and healthy even! I hope you try it.



Crabby Shells



Don’t let their grouchy recipe name turn you away from their fabulous flavor. You have to try these at least once. They are so good! I even liked them served chilled the next day for lunch. They were not as crispy, but the flavor was still good.



4 ounces fat-free cream cheese

1 tablespoon fat-free Miracle Whip

4 ounces imitation crab leg meat- chopped into tiny pieces and shredded

1 teaspoon plus ½ teaspoon dried chopped chives

1 teaspoon Splenda granular

1 (2.1 ounce) box-baked mini Fillo Dough Shells (In frozen dessert section of store.)



-Preheat oven to 350 degrees.



-Spray cookie sheet with non-fat cooking spray. Set aside.



-In bowl stir together cream cheese, Miracle Whip, crabmeat, 1-teaspoon chives and Splenda until smooth and creamy.



-Put 1 ½ -2 teaspoons cream mixture into each mini shells. Very lightly sprinkle top of cream stuffed mini shells with remaining ½ teaspoon chopped chives.



-Cover stuffed shells with aluminum foil.



-Bake at 350 degrees for 5 minutes or until fully heated.



-Let sit a couple of minutes to cool before serving.



Yield: 15 mini stuffed shells

Buffalo Chicken Dip
Canned Chicken 2
Cream Cheese 2
Ranch Dressing 1/2 - 1cup
Shredded Cheese
Buffalo Wing sauce 1/3 cup or more if you like it spicy

Serve with chips.
I melt the cream cheese first, then let the chicken cook a little and add the rest, warm and serve.

Jalapeno poppers are great, if you can handle the spice.
Cut jalapenos in half and take the seeds out.
Spread cream cheese in each half
Take a pound of bacon and cut it in half. Not the thick sliced bacon
Wrap each stuffed jalapeno with a half slice of bacon.
toothpick it to hold the bacon on
Lo Broil until the bacon is done. Time depends on where you have
the rack situated to the broiler. Grill if it's nice outside.
I use the broiler pan over a cake pan so the bacon grease drips off.
Can be microwaved to reheat if you cook ahead of time.
ENJOY!

This one has always been a big winner at parties at my place. Large bar of cream cheese to one large can of Hormel Chili - throw it in a crock pot until the cream cheese melts. If you want spicey buy the spicey chilli or throw in a can of chilis. Serve hot with chips.

Mini Ham Puffs are good and easy. One package diced ham, finely chopped, 2Tbsp finely chopped onion,1/2 c shredded swiss or cheddar cheese, 1egg, 1 Tbsp snipped parsley, 1 1/2 tsp Dijon mustard, 1/8 tsp pepper, and 1 tube frig. crescent rolls Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly spray mini muffin pan. Unroll crescent dough and press into one big rectangle. Cut dough into 24 squares, press one square into each mini muffin cup. Mix all ingredients together in small bowl. Fill each cup with small amount of mixture. Pinch corners of the square closed over mixture and bake 12-14 minutes. Remove from pan, serve immediately.

An appetizer that I enjoy making from time to time is Bacon Wrapped Water Chesnuts. Its very easy. All you do is buy a can of whole water chesnuts and drain them. Soak them in a bowl of soya sauce. (5-10 minutes) Pour some white sugar into a bowl, start out with about a half cup. Take a pound of bacon and cut each piece in half.

Lay out one half strip of bacon. Take a water chesnut out of the soya sauce and roll it in the bowl of sugar. Once coated place it at the end of the strip of bacon and roll it up. Put a toothpick through it to hold it in place. Do this to all of the water chesnuts and place them all on a baking rack on a cookie sheet and place into the oven at about 350 degrees. Just bake them until the bacon is cooked. These are really good. You'll be impressed and so will your guests.
