A great way to learn new stuff is to watch 30 Min. Meals with Rachael Ray (online or record for naptime viewing). Married 25 plus years I'm still learn watching her. Also if you can find a cookbook called "More with Less" it is healthy recipes by a mennoite community that has fed my 4 girls all theese years.

SIMPLE AMAZING WINTER FOOD;

-cut up chuck steak package into about 3" pices and place in baking dish.

-add 1 can low fat mushroom soup

-add 1 can stewed tomatos juice and all

-add 1 can mushrooms; sliced if you like juice and all

-slice half an onion into rings, an break apart.

-large potatoes cleaned and quartered, or smaller ones halved.

*salt/pepper/ touch of season salt up to you. Bake without it the first time and taste.. you may not want any as it comes out flavorful

---it wont look great at this uncooked stage; but stir it just to kinda mix it. Cover and bake at 400 until meat falls apart with a fork. around 60-90 minutes. if meat is not fork tender, it is not done. Everyone loves this, and the gravy is awesome on the potatoes and meat, and you didnt even use flour!

Hi Katie! I have the greatest cookbook called Busy People's Super Simple 30-Minute Menus. It has recipes for an entire meal, including grocery lists, step by step instructions and nutrition information. I like it because the whole meal takes less than half hour to make! Plus, everything I have tried so far is delicious! There is also a website Cooking for Busy People you should check out. There are alot of free recipes there for you to try as well. I copied one of my families favorite meals from the cookbook here for you. I hope you like it!

Wow, you must really have your hands full! I always recommend a slow cooker for busy moms or for moms who lack cooking experience. You can make all kinds of healthy comfort foods just by taking 15 minutes in the morning to throw a bunch of things in the slow cooker. A roasting pan is pretty good too.

Put a whole chicken in a roasting pan. Drizzle with olive oil. Sprinkle with salt, pepper and basil and or oregano (or herbes de provence or italian spice mix...). Throw in peeled cut carrots (big chunks are great), a few celery stalks, a few potatoes quartered, an onion quartered. Bake in the oven at 350 for 1 1/2 to 2 hours (covered). This is the easiest meal you can make and the whole family will love it.

Food network is a great website I agree! And most things that are home cooked are healthier choices.. Once you learn the healthier choices you can learn to substitute and change recipes up. I often use allrecipes.com as well, you can see the ratings that each recipe gets.. another site i've used is wholesometoddlerfood.com you can google healthy toddler recipes and different sites come up...I'm in the same boat right now trying to find the healthiest for my daughter... If you have a certain ingredient you have at home and need to find a recipe to go with it, try going to the brand website, for example, campbells, jif, skippy almost anything you can think of has it's own recipes on their site!
