Parmesan-Puffed Tilapia

2/3 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
1/3 cup mayonnaise
2 tbsp. thinly sliced green onion
1/4 tsp. hot sauce
1 lb. tilapia fillets, (thawed if frozen)
1/4 tsp. paprika

- Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Blend Parmesan, mayonnaise, green onion and hot sauce in a small bowl; set aside. Pat fish dry with paper towels. Coat a shallow baking dish with nonstick cooking spray; place fillets in baking dish. Spread Parmesan mixture evenly over the fillets and sprinkle with paprika.

- Bake 15-20 minutes or until fish flakes easily with a fork and topping is puffed and golden.

Serves 4

Hello Carmen~



You could use cheddar as a substitute... but I would suggest not adding it until the fish is almost done as it may burn and you only want it to be slightly browned.  Let me know how it turns out!

Hi shirley!



Can't help but notice your recipe! I can imagine it already, the taste and all. Tilapia here in my hometown, Bacolod City, Philippines, is very much abundant :) for P150 per kilo you can have at least 4 med. size tilapias! May I ask, unfortunately parmesan is available here but quite expensive since it's classified as imported goods, can you suggest a substitute? Can cheddar cheese do the trick?
