Peachy Chicken

Okay so here's a peachy recipe that the whole family is guaranteed to love...even the pickiest of lil' eaters! I know just how hard it is to make a meal that appeals to the ENTIRE family! This yummy recipe provides all of us moms with a trick up our "apron" sleeves! Bon Appetit!

Compliments of Heinz Malt Vinegar:



2-1/2 pounds skinless chicken pieces (IMO, drumsticks & thighs work best)

1 tablespoon vegetable oil

1 (16 ounce) can peach slices, drained & juice reserved

1/4 cup frozen orange juice concentrate, thawed

1/4 cup malt vinegar

1 tablespoon brown sugar

1 teaspoon dried basil leaves

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon ground cloves

1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

1/8 teaspoon pepper

2 tablespoons cornstarch

2 tablespoons water


1.) In large skillet, brown the chicken in the vegetable oil.

2.) Combine the reserved peach juice, orange juice concentrate, malt vinegar, brown sugar, basil, salt, cloves, cinnamon, & pepper. Pour over browned chicken. Cover & simmer 25 to 30 minutes, or until chicken is cooked through.

3.) Using kitchen tongs, remove chicken pieces to a platter. In a small bowl, combine 2 tablespoons of cornstarch to 2 tablespoons of water & stir until mixture is smooth; add to skillet using a whisk. Continue whisking until sauce is free of any lumps & thickens slightly.

4.) Return chicken pieces to skillet . Add peach slices & heat several minutes more.

5.) Serve chicken & sauce over a bed of rice.

6.) Sit down and enjoy some quality time with your family...& a tasty meal! :)
