I am having family over for dinner and I thought pulled pork sandwiches would be a great idea to feed a big group. So I was wondering if anyone had some good pulled pork recipes. I have never made pulled pork so I don't have a recipe so if anyone can help me out with one of their favorite recipes that would be amazing.

Kaye, I just wanted to let you know I made your pulled pork version last night and it was AWESOME!!! I did make it in the oven instead (cause our crockpot was dirty and I didn't want to clean it...hehe). I just followed the directions on the package and **poof** perfect! After I shredded it I added the bbq sauce. Thanks for your post or I would have never known what kind of meat to use!!

I have taken a pork shoulder and put it in the crock pot with BBQ sauce and some water. Let it cook on low 10-12 hours or high more like 7 or 8. It will be tender and fall apart when pulled with a fork. In the last one or two hours of cooking, you can add some canned beans to the crock pot. Remove the meat, pull it apart and add some more BBQ sauce to it for the sandwiches. Serve with the BBQ beans.

My pulled pork takes 2 days because you have to make two dinners to get the best flavoring.

Take a really good sized pork roast and rub with a pork rub any will do.

Then put whole potatoes, quartered onions, and bab carrots in with it .If you have a large crockpot cook in the crock pot on high for 10-12 hours you want it to be really tender so slow cooking is the best way on medium for 16 hours. Only put a half cup of water in with the roast pork has a lot of fluid and fat in it and will tendarize self in own juices.

For day 2

Take the pork that you slow cooked the day before and pull it apart it will be very tender. Take 1/2 cup brown sugar and put in frying pan and melt then dice and carmelize 2-3 onions in brown sugar. Take the remaining carrots and onions from the roast and puree anfd mix with your favorite bbq sauce (make sure after you do this test the taste of the bbq sauce I just add the carrots into it for a little more nutrition)

In the same skillet chop up a pound of bacon for every 2 pound s of roast and fry. Drain out oil and add onions and bacon to mixture.

Cook on low in the crockpot until dinner time.

With the remaining potatoes from the night before you can make a type of baked potato salad. If you would like the recipe let me know.
