Tots can be frozen - they thaw when you place in oven...turns out golden brown and in one piece.

This is a great one to try! Friend told me about it and my son just ate it up! Yes, you can place favorite veggie in too; if using canned veggie, you will need to drain the liquid.

Quoting Staniquea:

I make mine with 1 lb hamburger browned with 1 onion. Then mix with 1 can cream of mushroom and 1/4 cup milk in. Then top with about 1 cup frozen mixed veggies then cheese and tater tots. I bake it about 45 min or so @ 375. My girls don'y notice the veggie. I'm gonna have to try mine with cream of chicken, that sounds really good. I got my recipe @ kraftfoods.com

i love the kraft foods website. their recipes are generally easy and use things that i usually have on hand...i haven't been there in a while...i'm glad i read ur post!

Maybe i'll try your veggie choices, Lindsey, and see if my daughter will eat it. She's a little picky. What age are your kids, if i may ask, and do they like it?

I make mine with hamburger, cream of mushroom, and some cream of chicken...no milk. Stir in a can of corn, can of mushrooms and can of green beans, pour into 9x13 pan, cover with tator tots, bake. The sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on it at the end!

OMG! I haven't thought of this recipe in years. I've always wanted to make it but never did. I've heard that some people have added veggies into it. have you ever? and if not, do you think it would be good that way? (i'm always looking for ways to sneak veggies into food for my daughter. most times she'll eat them if they are mixed into something she likes) I'm so excited to try this!
