sliced sourdough bread
shredded or sliced Pepper Jack cheese
honey mustard
thinly sliced ham or turkey (optional)
thinly sliced tomatoes (optional)
softened butter
parmesan cheese
olive oil
Spread the inside of the bread generously with honey mustard. Place cheese and sliced meat and press top slice down.
Mix enough parmesan cheese with soft butter (or Canola spread) until it is the consistency of peanut butter and cover the top slice.
Heat a little olive oil in a skillet and when the pan is hot, place sandwich, buttered side down in the pan. CAREFULLY spread the top slice with the parmesan butter. Flip after checking for golden color and finish until second side is golden.
The "spicy" of the Pepper Jack and the "sweet" of the honey mustard are amazing when brought together and warmed. The parmesan cheese mixed into the frying butter will render a crunchy cheese-toast finish!
