Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground meat (lamb, chicken, beef, turkey, etc) or sausages, chopped in bite-size pieces
  • 1 large onion, finely minced
  • 2 tablespoons garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 can diced tomatoes
  • 3 cups diced potatoes, boiled (I like red, yukon, and fingerlings)
  • 1 small can green chiles (optional)
  • 1 can small peas
  • or
  • 1 bag frozen peas
  • 2 cups freshly cooked white rice
  • 2 tablespoons cooking oil

Preparation

  1. salt and pepper to taste (of course!)
  2. In a large skillet, sauteed garlic and onions in cooking oil on high heat. Add ground meat, in pieces, into skillet. Cook at medium heat for 5-7 minutes or until cooked thouroughly. Combine with salt and pepper. Lastly add peas, onions, tomatoes, (green chiles), and potatoes into skillet and cook on low for 10-15 minutes (or until peas are cooked through). Serve along side with rice.
  3. Optional: Serve with fresh lemon wedges and naan bread for that authentic Indian feel!
