• Recipe History:
  • Supposedly, as the story goes, Sees Candies had a recipe contest. The winner of the contest would be paid for the rights to the recipe, and the winning recipe would be used for production of candy. This recipe for fudge is reported to have been the winning recipe. Provided Sees has not changed the recipe, this could be the very recipe that they currently use for fudge. My grandmother came up with the recipe around the 1920s. This was one of the many recipes that she has passed on to me.

Ingredients

  • 1 C Chopped Walnuts
  • 1 Cube Butter
  • 1 C Chocolate Chips
  • 1 tsp. Vanilla
  • 2 C Sugar
  • 3/4 C Evaporated Milk
  • 10 Large Marshmallows

Preparation

  1. Put nuts, chocolate chips, butter and vanilla in a bowl.
  2. Put sugar, marshmallows and evaporated milk in a pan. Bring mix in pan to a boil. Boil for eight minutes, until it reaches the soft ball stage on a candy thermometer.
  3. Pour over mix in bowl. Stir constantly until all chocolate bits are dissolved.
  4. Pour into greased pan. Cut when cool. Do NOT refrigerate.
