Summer is here! And with that brings barbecues and gatherings. No matter what you are eating for dinner that night, it is always fun to have a finger food to snack on while the main meal is cooking. This cheesy, tangy and smokey bread is perfect!
With a serrated knife, cut slits into the sourdough, criss-crossing, almost all the way down to the bottom of the bread, but not cutting through.
In a small bowl combine mayo, mustard, olive oil and green onions. With a pastry brush, move apart pieces of bread and spread this mixture in between the slices. Then break apart pieces of the cheese and slide them also between the slits in the bread and lastly sprinkle on the bacon and pour melted butter evenly over the top.
Wrap the bread in foil. Place on a hot grill, over medium heat. Let cook for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, open up the foil and continue to cook for another 10 minutes or until bread is golden and cheese is melted.
