Easy Crock Pot Spaghetti Sauce
- If you asked my little girl what her favorite food is, she would tell you, "Spaghetti!" She loves the taste and fun, long noodles while I love how easy it is to make. This sauce beats any jarred sauce, and is worth the few minutes of effort.
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef (or Gluten Free Italian Sausage)
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cans (14.5 oz each) petite diced tomatoes (sometimes I blend these up first since my little ones don't like chunks of veggies)
- 3 cans (8 oz) tomato sauce
- 1 can (6 oz) tomato paste
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 T packed brown sugar
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 1/2 t dried basil
- 1 1/2 t dried oregano
- 1 t salt
- 1/2 t dried thyme

Preparation
- Brown beef and onion, drain fat.
- Combine all ingredients in a crock pot.
- Stir
- Cover with lid and cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4 hours.
- Remove bay leaf before serving.
- Serve over cooked gluten free pasta. (My new favorite gluten free pasta is Trader Joe's Corn Spaghetti noodles at just $1.39 per bag. It is not starchy like rice pasta and is the closest to regular wheat pasta in taste and texture.)
