• Ingredients:
  • 1 tbs butter
  • 1 green apple(chopped)
  • 1 onion (chopped)
  • Salt and pepper
  • 1 tsp fennel seed
  • One and ahalf pounds of ground turkey ( I prefer to mix light and dark)
  • Half a palm of poultry seasoning
  • Third palm of allspice
  • Third palm of sweet paprika
  • EVOO to drizzle
  • Heat nonstick skillet over medium heat. Add butter and melt. Add apple, onion, salt, pepper and fennel. Saute until tender (about 5 minutes). Let cool.
  • Preheat nonstick skillet in prep of the patties.
  • Put turkey, salt/pepper, poultry seasoning, allspice and paprika in large bowl, drizzle with EVOO. Mix well. Add onions/apples mixture, mix well. Form into patties. Plop into skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes each side. Use your own judgment on doneness. I have to be honest. I also cut one in half to be sure.
  • Serve this up with pancakes and maple syrup and you’ll have some happy people around you.
  • Maple syrup:
  • Use only maple syrup (no pancake syrup). Put in a small saucepan. Add a stick of cinnamon and some orange zest. I will sometimes add a couple of squeezes of the orange as well. Simmer until the sausage is done.
  • Our family likes this so much they have it cold as snacks.
