All right if you'll indulge me I'll give some updates that maybe you have heard or not. I'm so proud of the very courageous Governor and pray for his safety along with all the legislators that support him. The Assembly passed the bill early this morning which closes all debate which has been going on forever with no intentions on the Democrats side to end it. The last budget that was passed by the previous Governor(dem.) took just over 24 hours to pass with little to none opportunity for the minority Republicans to debate and that budget along with a decade or so of previous budgets are the very reason we are where we are. The "Hope and Change" democrats weren't aware that they weren't going to be in charge of all the change that needs to happen. So here's a video of the children in the assembly after they realized that the vote was being taken, it's done and they lost. What amazes me is that they fail to realize that outside of Madison there are a lot of people, their constituents that support this bill. They are obviously the bought and paid for by the union democrats.http://www.620wtmj.com/news/local/116906...

That's because to their way of thinking she's out lived her usefulness. They're probably trying to figure out how to legally euthanize her this minute.

Oh yeah, he's done it now. How dare he take jobs away. The professional welfare recipients must rise up and Jesse Jackson is on his way I'm sure. As for our Supreme Court, it should be official by tomorrow that Prosser won. Milwaukee is due to finish the canvassing today or tomorrow and they are the last ones still out. So, does she concede? Does she demand a recount? What will keep the anger going and be used to their benefit the most? When are we actually going to be able to be done with all of this and get back to work is what I really want to know? Oh yeah, poor Ramona who is the Vice Chair of the Democratic Party in Waukesha County. In the press conference where the County Clerk explained what she did or didn't do and took responsibilty for her error Ramona then added that she oversaw it all and that basically it's on the up and up, the numbers "jive"(her hip word, not mine) and she wouldn't stand there telling anything else that wasn't true. Now, 80 year old Ramona is saying how she's old and doesn't know computers and doesn't know if something else could have happened. Nice, the party of we care about old people just convinced an older lady that she's too old to understand because she shut the door on the question of fraud.

Any news on the judicial elections? Do they know who officially won yet? The Dem's are trying to set up a removal petition for Snyder here in Michigan. He must be doing SOMETHING right!:) He's only had the office for 3 months and they can't send around petitions until the 6 month mark. I just hope something really good and BIG happens because of Snyder before then so that they look like the idiots they are. Apparently Snyder is out "Wacking" the poor because he put a 4 year lifetime limit on welfare unless you're disabled or have a valid hardship case. Waaaa!

I love the accusations of voter fraud also. First when she had "won" it was "No voter fraud here" now of course it has to be voter fraud. Go ahead, check for fraud Prosser will probably get another 1000 votes or Kloppenburg will loose that many. Hey, maybe they'll find that missing ballot box, or find out why 10k people in Madison only voted for the Supreme Court race and not the hotly contended Mayoral or DA race. Maybe they'll question the people giving the seniors a sample ballot all filled out to take to the polls to copy, maybe they'll look a little closer at all the high school kids registering at the polls, or maybe the lady who registered despite the fact that she didn't have proof of address. Yes, please do investigate for voter fraud, maybe even read the 2007 report that was done saying that the likelyhood of fraud in Milwaukee is high and that hundreds of votes could be stolen. I think that report was done only in Milwaukee, doesn't include Kenosha. Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett refused to believe it along with the Gov. at the time and Police Chief Flynn. Ahem, all Democrats. Yes, please do investigate.

Hahaha..It wasn't just that...She declared a victory with a 204 vote lead on the UN-OFFICIAL total!! Every county has until April 15th to report there totals to the government (giving them time to thoroughly and accurately count of course). Somebody probably should've told this to Kloppenburg

HAHAHAHAHAHA......okay, I'll stop here because it's not over but still, what a sweet change this is!!!!!
In case no one knows, my county's clerk made an error and didn't save the Town of Brokfield's votes to send them on to the State. So, 14,000 votes did not get counted. Prosser leads by what 7k some odd votes. It's not over but it's infinetly harder to make that up on a recount but I'll wait to see what they pull before I call a complete victory. For now it's a great laugh knowing how much they put into this, thought they had it, declared victory with a 204 vote margin (who does that?) and now it's taken away. :) Here's Kloppenburg's victory press conference.

ARGGGGGGG!!!!!! The WI Supreme Court race is 50-50 almost an even split. The Liberal extreme enviromental lawyer for the DNR is leading at the moment by just over 200 votes it's almost noon and there's still more votes to be counted in a few places. The potential for fraud is huge and we all know which side fraudulant votes fall on. I don't think my hair color, or hair line or nerves can take much more of this. These Unions have to go. How can we let them run our State or even our Country when they represent such a small fraction of citizens. Who the HELL do they think they are? But, I will say that all the special interest money, time and efforts were poured into WI for the last month. They outspent 3 to 1 the conservative incumbant and yet here we are basically tied. They will never have such a perfect storm opportunity again and they couldn't lock it up solidly. Pray, pray, pray, for us. This is going to be months of recounting and Wisconsin, voter fraud is a given.

The best part is all the schools that are rushing to consolidate and cut programs BEFORE the budget cuts have even been doled out. And all the administrators and parents blaming Walker..maybe if you worthless money grubbing teachers hadn't collectively bargained all the school districts right into the ground than this wouldn't be necessary

Oh trust me Laura! I am already on that! I'm from Ozaukee County and currently live in West Bend. My parents are very heavily involved in the Republican Party of Oz County. That smear ad for Prosser is ludicrous!! I'm so tired of this ridiculous behavior by our peers.
I loved the people coming out of the woodwork after the "sickout" claiming they actually went to work those days because the children are important and not all teachers should be looked upon with scorn. But yet they agreed they need collective bargaining
What I say to that is " But isn't that what being in a union and collectively bargaining is about..all of you being treated equally? And what you are now telling me is that should only be relevant if you're receiving raises, and vacation time? But when the majority of your group acts poorly you want to be separated from them?"
I just don't get it. But whatever..we are campaigning hard on our end for Prosser and I'm glad to see there are sane people left in this state! Gov. Walker is going to be the best thing that happened to us if these idiots allow him to do his job.
Did you realize that Virginia's african-american and liberal governor passed an even tougher and admittedly union busting bill back in 93. Oddly enough the bowels of the earth did NOT open and swallow up the state AND they no longer have a deficit and there per capita income is 20% higher than WI. Union's have no place this day in age and only serve to cost the tax-payers and forced union members loads of money

Jennifer where are you from in Wisconsin, I live in the Hartland area. I agree whole heartily with you. I can't even stand this anymore. I'm wondering what country I live in where a Union boss can threaten private businesses who weren't in the original boycott list because they contributed to Scott Walker's campaign, which is bad enough. No they are on the new boycott list because they have decided to stay neutral and not put up the sign saying they support the Union workers because not everyone in Wisconsin and not all their customers are from the public employee Unions. Can you even believe that? The union employees have gone to these businesses and apologized and said that the Union leader that is doing this doesn't represent them but the thing is that he does. They voted him in to speak for them and now he's mad with power, this is why Unions are dangerous and unnecessary. And now the whole Kloppenberg vs. Prosser drama. Kloppenberg who's been turned down 3 times (2x by Gov. Doyle which says a lot, and 1x by Obama) for a judicial seat. She condones an incredibly insensitive, inaccurate ad about Prosser and two young boys who were sexually abused by a Priest 33 years ago and even when asked to denounce it by the victim who, by the way, was never asked if they could use his case for the ad she wouldn't even do that. The victim today, just put up an ad giving Kloppenberg as much a slap in the face as an ad can. Jennifer, you have to email everyone you know to vote for Prosser on Tuesday. If you need info. on Kloppenberg go to WTMJ radio and go to Charlie Sykes blog, he's got all the goods. Hey, I've been planning on including some of those articles on the Wisconsin forums on COM even though most of them are deader than a doornail, I feel I have to do something. Go to them and put a response in, see if we can light a fire.

I don't know how many (if any) of you are from WI but I am..and this Budget Battle is making me want to pull my hair out! These public school teachers absolutely disgust me with their greediness!! I am so glad my church pays tuition for private schooling because my son will never step foot in public!
The original claim from the teachers was that they weren't concerned about the MEAGER financial contribution..they just wanted their "right" to collectively bargain. I don't understand this..I was under the impression that we lived in the 21st century and that there were NUMEROUS worker's rights laws in place to assure that we all are treated fairly.
And being treated fairly...HARDLY!! More like being held to the level of royalty! Private school teachers get 1/2 the pay, none of the benefits (including but not limited to insurance, pension, vacation). Yet these teachers manage to produce a lower dropout rate, higher GPA and safer classrooms.
Did you know that WI taxpayers paid $800,000 for teacher's to get free Viagra last year?! The school system wanted to eliminate this benefit and the teachers are fighting them. They've also managed to collectively bargain for no repercussion to be brought against them for bringing on fake Dr's notes during the sick out!
Somebody please tell me what the hell has happened to our country and my state?

It gets better. There is an election for WI Supreme Court Judge this April. Incumbent is a conservative and of course the one running against him is a screaming liberal. Yes, they followed the letter of the law but that doesn't seem to matter when you're a Dem/Liberal/Union boss. They have broken the law so many times it's unbelievable, the boycott of private companies is illegal, yet they are sending out threatening letters to private companies, picketing them because the owners sent donations out of their own personal finances to Scott Walker...that is an illegal action. They have torn up the recall papers with signatures to recall the Dems. who took off to Illinios but they use State paid for(taxpayer paid for) computers to organize recall efforts for the Republican Senators. It's so over the top what they are doing it's making me sick and that so many people just aren't aware, turn their back or completely support it makes me even more sick. The radio show I listen to went through the list of communities and how much they will save by just doing the contributions that Gov. Walker is asking for and it's in the millions for every community and in almost all, the savings meet or exceed the amount that is being cut from aid. Now imagine if they actually went shopping for cheaper health care instead of buying it from the teachers union at an inflated price, more savings which means we could reinvest in the teachers and programs we got rid of. Why don't people understand this?????

I think the Judge has clearly overstepped his bounds in Wisconsin. This is what is really irritating me with judges, they think they can overrule the voice of the people, and set laws that are bogus. They need to repeal it right away.

Cherish :) I honestly don't think most people are really interested in tarring and feathering teachers per say. Just the unions that seem to control them. People in generally can all agree that education is important and therefore teachers as well. If public education were to go away the need for teachers remains. They will just become private. However, there can always be public "funding" for schools. I think it should remain local though. I like the idea of attaching the $ to the student and let them use the free market. I think the federal government and the unions need to be removed from the equation, even if it's by legal/political force, by the people. We have allowe dway to many of our liberties AND responsibilities to be taken over by others without the same interests. I think teachers on a whole would be much better off working privately than under a government heading.

I just picked up a copy of Mary Sheley's Fankenstien. I had always seen the films and plays but never read the actual book. It really has made me aware at just how uneducated out country has become due to government and progressive interference. When was the last time anyone seen a recently written book that was written above an 8th grade spelling and comprehension level? Frankenstien was a book written for entertainment purposes but is well beyond most highschoolers on a spelling and comprehansion level. I'm talking abou the unaltered/unabridged version. Then take a look at any books written before the modern public school movement. All those marvels of literature were written in what was a common comprehension level for the day.

@ Cherish- As a teacher, ignoring the current school model and situation, if you were able to teach how you wanted, What would your goals and aspirations be for your students? Or for that matter, for yourself? What should a teachers goal be for their career? Not as a job but as a "calling"?

The public school system, I feel, has dulled and changed what a teachers goal is. I think the reason most people have a problem with the teachers that are picketing is because those teachers have shown that their focus is more on thier benefits package than anything related to the aspect of teaching. If people do what they have a passion for they will focus their goals on doing the best they can at what they do. Employers or customers will generally pay accordingly. We are usually willing to pay more for goods and services of good quality no matter what they are. This is part of the free market system.

I realize I'm kind of all over the map for this topic but bare with me:) If the public school system collapsed tomorrow Good teachers who were passionate about their jobs would still find work and probably be better paid. They would also find that many methods they were taught to teach are failing their students and they would have more liberty to pick working methods.

That's kind of the point though. Some of the public employees are acting as if their life is over, they are pushing through contracts that I've heard just today even give some raises but most aren't even making the concessions that the Gov. has put into law. In other states there may be limited bargaining or no bargaining. I think in 12 states there is no bargaining and another 14(?) there's limited which is what they'll be at in Wisconsin now. So, Wisconsin public employees are just being asked to do what so many others do. Those others aren't just the private sector employees in Wisconsin but also public employees of other states and Federal employees. Yes, Federal employees have no collective bargaining "rights". This is no longer about "the right to collectivately bargain". It's about power and the threat of diminished power for the unions. It's unbelievable the amount of threats going on around here, all by the unions. A branch of my bank in Madison had to be closed on Saturday because of the protestors that where banging on the doors and windows and harassing people who were going in. That same bank received one of the many form letters saying that they need to show support for the public employee unions or they will be put on the boycot list. The letter was signed by the leaders of the National Police Assoc. and the Firefighters Union and some other public service and protection agencies. I have given money to the police, firefighters and sheriffs for running of their D.A.R.E. programs and babyseat safety programs. Next time they call they will be getting only a piece of my mind. Yes, you are right Cherish, the time for the usefulness of almost all the unions has definetly gone by. There are some that are still needed but the public employee unions were never needed.

Cherish - posted on 03/13/2011

Just to let everyone know, before all teachers are tarred and feathered...not all teachers in the country have negiotiated bargaining, the unions have very little impact on what happens in schools and we are expected to perform duties as seen fit by administration. And, I pay a lot of my own insurance as well as all of my family. I agree, the time for the unions has gone by and they expect too much from everyone else without any compromise on their part.

But, most notably the Mayor of Milwaukee, the Democrat canidate for Governor oppossing Scott Walker put that very challenge Governor Walker about what a week or so ago. Besides, it really isn't that unreasonable.
"The measure forbids most government workers from collectively bargaining for wage increases beyond the rate of inflation unless approved by referendum. It also requires public workers to pay more toward their pensions and double their health insurance contribution, a combination equivalent to an 8 percent pay cut for the average worker.

Police and firefighters are exempt."

Key phrase:
"beyond the rate of inflation unless approved by referendum"

And did you see this little goody?
"In 30 minutes, 18 state senators undid 50 years of civil rights in Wisconsin. Their disrespect for the people of Wisconsin and their rights is an outrage that will never be forgotten,"

Civil rights???? Since when is it a civil right to collectively bargain your pay past the taxpayers ability to provide it?

Then the lone Democrate yells that the Rep. are in violation of something? Aren't the Dems in violation of something holding the process hostage for 3 weeks?

And they're furious at them for the "quick" vote. Because 3 weeks wasn't long enough?

A big high five to whoever figured this out! I know they probably used it as a last resort.

AH HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA THAT FELT GOOD!!! I heard this on my way to Ash Wednesday services so was just getting online for info. and stopped here first thankyou Tammy! My fav. line from Miller "Tonight, 18 Senate Republicans conspired to take government away from the people." OH the hypocrisy. I didn't think we were supposed to have such richness on Ash Wednesday! Again Miller's grasp of reality is embarrassing for us Wisconsinites, it probably won't ever phase him. I have to say, I went to a meeting last night that was held by the school board admin. assoc(something like that) to explain the budget repair bill and the budget plan and they were rather supportive of the repair bill. They did say that without removing collective bargaining their hands are tied and the budget cuts might equate to job losses. I was surprised and pleased that at least in our county they get it. Anyhow, CELEBRATE this is great on alot of levels.

While these guys are hiding the national Democrat organizations and unions are funneling money into WI for the recalls of eight of the Republican Senators. And I mean serious money. Those hiding out are probably being funded by national Dem. and unions. Why? Presidential election. Obama needs WI. Wisconsin did a total flip in the 2010 election. We were completely dominated by Dems. now both houses, Governorship, and many House Reps and the big liberal/progressive Senator Russ Feingold was beaten by a virtual unknown businessman and we finally got a Republican Senator in Washington. If this bill doesn't pass, and any Republican Senators are recalled guess who wins. It not just about this state. They want to shut us down so that all the other states looking to do this won't want to. They need to shut us down so that Obama has a better chance of reelection. The hard part about this is that for those of us who understand what's really going on see all this as a fine display of the dangerous power the Unions have and the lengths they'll go to keep it. But, we have no control over everyone's understanding and have to wonder how other's perceive it or if they are paying attention at all.

Have you ever read Frank Peretti's books? They are Christian science fiction adverture novels that I read in my early 20's as I was just forming my own individual faith. The stories are about a hero who more or less is thrown into a situation where an organization is trying to overthrow a town or influence the situation. Each part of the story is first written on the human plane which is of limited understanding and then on the spiritual plane which brings out a greater understanding of whats really going on. The "bad" humans are followed around by demons called greed, jealousy, laziness, you get the idea. The hero is followed around and protected by the arch angels. Anyhow, I feel like I'm trapped in a Frank Peritti book. Key to success...Prayer. So, if you could, say a prayer for us, for our legislators that are doing their job, for our Governor, for all those supporting this bill to stay strong and for those opposing it to have understanding. And a big one, that the Unions don't get their way here. Thanks :)

So FREE cadillac health ins. and $50,000 a year for the rest of their lives. But it has to come from union members and union employee checks only.;)

The cops in Madison are totally for the protestors. There was an ex cop who was injured in the line of duty that called up the Madison conservative talk show and completely reemed the Madison and Capitol police out. I'll post when I find it. But truely, the police made on oath to protect all citizens. They aren't. There was also a Fox news reporter who was trying to report from Madison and he was getting pushed around. He called for assistance and it was a considerable amount of time before anyone showed up if they did at all. My computer hasn't been working all that well at it takes like half an hour to watch a 5 min. clip so I gave up on it but if you want to see it it was during Geraldo's segment. Oh and the cops also refuse to get tough on the remaining squatters in the Capitol. The closed the Capitol for cleaning and weren't going to open it up again but the Union bosses went to a judge and the judge told them that the Capitol had to remain open to the public during business hours. The police will not get rid of these people. I'm sure most of them aren't even from Wisconsin.
