He said he wouldn't do it because he doesn't want to lose his soul. I could completely see that, given the vast number of snakes in Washington. Politics is not straightforward and hasn't been for a long time. The backroom deals are out of control.

His better function would to stay in TV and radio, he would wield much more influence that way. Presidents are simply puppets. Having said that, the only talker I would LOVE seeing in office would be Dennis Prager, but then I'm back to the quandry that presidents are puppets and he's more affective on radio. BUT Prager is certainly presidential and certainly intelligent.

I watch Glenn Beck because he brings out the USA 'history'. He makes me stop and think. He is also quite entertaining...love his 'dramatic' pipe and glasses. However, I can't see him as a president. And beside, we will miss his show for sure.
Carol - posted on 04/14/2010
I don't think he is Presidential enough for me, but he sure is a great inspiration and boy, does he know his stuff. The 9/12 Movement is thanks to him and I thank that we have him on the Media, at least he gives liberals something to worry about.

I enjoy him but I think that as president he would be the other extreme that would be hard for America to that extreme change. He is very honest and god fearing but not president material. I love hearing his thoughts and facts also watching him tear people apart. That is wher he needs to be is our American informant.

Glenn Beck is a good commentator and I like that he cites his facts, but he already has a very negative repuation with many people in this country and it would be very difficult for him to win. Personally, I think Dave Ramsey would make an awesome president, but he would never get elected because he would make to many changes that people would not like (mostly due to the entitlement attitude in this country).

I love Glenn Beck, but he he stated that he has no intention of running for president. So no I don't want him to run, cause that is not what HE wants. I think he will be better on TV and Radio, informing people of the hidden truths.
No, I actually think he does a great job of holding politicians accountable (which used to be what all journalists did). I want him to stay in that role. There are a lot of good prospects for 2012 though, such as Hermain Cain, Bobby Jindall and Tim Pawlenty. Maybe even Michelle Bachmann eh?

I think Glenn Beck is awesome. I listen to him every chance I get and I believe that what he says is true, but like he advises, I don't take his word for it, I research it and he is right!
I would not want him to run for president though because I think he is so much more effective in educating the public and he could lose that effectiveness if he got actually caught up himself in politics.
However, if he was on the ticket, I would vote for him.
That being said, has anyone taken his 40 day pledge?

Oh my God, do I love Glen Beck?! Yes, I would love to see him run for president! He's very extreme, yes, but so is the extent of the problems in the country. The country could really use somebody who would fight tooth and nail to get things back on track. I know he wont run... but it would be a nice change of pace.
Heather - posted on 10/17/2010
I also don't think he needs to run for president. He does a great job holding our politicians accountable. Republican and Democrat. We need folks like Beck and ORielly out there who aren't afraid to speak out and be our watch dogs.

I love Glenn and I would vote for him. However, there are so many people out there that wouldnt give him a chance. They dont understand him and wont try to listen to what he has to say because they are too blinded by the lies of the main stream media.

I really like Glenn Beck and would like to see him NOT run for president in 2012. I think that he can educate and uncover truth because he has made his entire life (including his weaknesses) an open book and has already been to rock bottom (the popular vacation spot for alcoholics and so many of the rest of us). There is no reporter who is going to dig up destructive secrets about him. I think that he is needed in this role where there are little or no others. Also, I'm not sure how I feel about voting for someone whose humor has included doing an impression of Elmo talking about the hand up his butt. After that radio show I believe I may be permanently scarred. I could be mistaken, but I think he's right where he is meant to be.

I love Glenn Beck! He speaks his mind and I agree with him most of the time. I love how he makes you stop and think. I don't know about president but I would hire him to teach US history. Then maybe my kids would learn what really happened in history.

i love glenn beck and watch his show everyday. Its hard for people who havent watched his show for a long time realize that what he has said say five years ago is comeing true today and he constantly does that. I believe he has the facts or deffinetly has the right people who check them, therefor i think he has the most accurate opinions and news.
I think he would be great as president but i too dont think that that is what his purpose is, i think if he did become president he would be too close to the drama or things going on therefore loose people as admirers or fans.
Wendi - posted on 09/08/2010
I would love it, too! But like PPs have mentioned, he's not interested. Personally, I'm all about voting for the LEAST experienced candidates - time to get political "insiders" outta there! Fresh meat, real people who know how real people live in society... that's my thinking. :)
Margie - posted on 08/05/2010
I agree w you Angi that would be a good ticket. I also agree that the Dems have some plan up their sleeves, they have no intention of loosing their power. They have all the news media in their corner, except for Fox news. So it is a good thing we have Glen, sean,Govenor Huckabee... watching out for what they are up to.

I like her, but I don't really want to see her run. It's not that she can't handle the job, it's just the whole 2008 election thing...I think she should just keep on getting the liberal's rustled up and raise money for conservative candidates. I'm not sure who I'd like to see run yet...

Well, all, since we can't vote a new president in for 2 more years, lets use our voices and turn them into action and at least VOTE in those that do communicate our values this fall and try to turn the House and Senate around!!! At least then, the WHOLE government wouldn't them be at The 3 stooges beck and call!!!!!

I am a fan of Glenn Beck and watch his show, but I believe our presidents should have military experience. I am a military wife and also have family members who are serving in the military. I believe since we are a nation at war our commander in chief must have first hand experience and know what it takes to keep this country safe. With that said if he enlisted I would seriously consider it.
Truth - posted on 06/11/2010
Not as president, but certainly somewhere in the presidential cabinet. He knows how to find the truth on the issues and communicate it in a way that people can understand.
We need more of that in government! Maybe house of representatives or Senate????
OOOOOoooooo could you see him railing against Pelosi, Reed Schumer or Boxer?

I use to really love Glenn Beck then he quoted something that Mark Levin said and claimed it as his own which bothered me. Then he went on The View and Whoopi G caught him in another lie that he made up about her and he admitted it. That kind of put me off a little. He is smart and entertaining and I listen to him every now and again but I just feel he's a little dramatic and he's not Conservative despite what most people think. Just my opinion. =)
Margie - posted on 05/05/2010
Glenn Beck would be a great canadate for president, except he already said that there would be no way that he would run. He would set the Democrats straight for a change. Other countries would stand up and take notice. He would be our new Samuel Adams. There would be no back room dealings anymore. Our stance on the radicals would definately change, there would be no appologizing for America's Greatness anymore. We would no longer be bowing down to other countries leaders, and most of all, we wouldn't be bankrupting our country into non-exitstance.
Gina - posted on 04/29/2010
I love Glenn Beck, I wish he could be our President, but I know that would never happen. I think our country needs someone like him who is not afraid to speak his mind and tell the truth like it is with no sugar coating or political correctness.
Carol - posted on 04/24/2010
No. Just because he's a great political commentator, doesn't mean he'd make a great president (I believe our current president got elected because people liked what he said, but when you're just words...). Besides what elected office has he held? It's best to not start out as president...
Caryn - posted on 04/23/2010
Nope. I don't think that is his purpose in life. Love GB, I have listened to him forever, have all his books, I even have an Insider membership and have for years. I wouldn't wish him that anal exam that happens to people who not only run for POTUS but actually hold office. Goodness knows he's getting enough of that now. While I think he understands politics, though, I do not think he is a political animal. If anyone has seen his Unelectable tour, he pretty much outlines why he can't be president and several people here are on top of that, he is plain spoken and to the point and I think people like presidents who can triangulate. Heck some people even like the ones that flat out lie. I don't think Glenn can do that.

Unfortunately, I think he has made a lot of enemies with his bold remarks and his demeanor. I like most of what he says and so many of his ideas. My husband seems to dislike him, maybe he pushes men away. But Rush is bold too, and men love him, so- I don't know. I am not sure he (Glenn) wants to get tied up in the political mess. I think he is a good fit in his job and very successful in spreading his message and a conservative view. I was thinking someone who is already there and building a good reputation, maybe like Eric Cantor. But I don't know that much about him yet. And other ideas??
